Having a limited stay in Lisbon, I was careful to search out this very friendly and accommodating spot not far from the key spots of old town. I would recommend this intimate spot if you're after a break from all the more traditional dishes of Portugal and the touristy spots along the high streets. No heavy meats or sauces as... More

I've been to other, more sophisticated Goan restaurants, but Tentações de Goa, off the beaten track of tourist restaurants in Lisbon is a very good experience for the quality of the food and the friendly staff. The prawn samosas were very good and the crab curry was very tasty and not overly spicy. Try the sweet samosa for desert. I'll... More

Unspectacular interior but truly tasty food. Worth a visit. Never been to India but I dare say the Goan cuisine served here beats all the other Indian restaurants in the vicinity.

I was disappointed by my dining experience at Tentações de Goa. The fish they served was mackerel, which is not as tasty and delicate as dorada and other types of white fish, and was full of tiny bones. It also did come come accompanied with rice and salad as in other Goan restaurants in Lisbon, so rice had to be... More

Goan food iis original from Goa region in India were there was a long established Portuguese community. This restaurant presents a big variety of dishes and the ones I had the pleasure to taste were all very tasty, well cooked and well presented. The quality and variety is very far-ahead from the normal Indian restaurants. The restaurant is very small... More

If you enjoy homemade quality Indian/Goan food then this is the place. Very small possibly less than 20 covers. It is situated in a narrow street 5 minutes from Rossio. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. When we told one of the staff at the hotel we were going there he recommended the prawn samosas. They were sensational as... More

This is a cosy spot and the food was delicious. The prawn and meat samosas were excellent and wish I could have ordered more but they were Euros 1.50 each, so had to leave space for the main dishes too. The prawn and okra curry was just fantastic white steamed rice. The fried mackerel with reichad masala was tasty but... More

Amazing food - service and vibe - To have such amazing Goan food in Portugal is truly an experience - Chicken Xacuti was the highlight along with Goan fish curry - Chapati is super good and have it with one of the white wines - Hard to find but worth the adventure - Highly recommended -

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighbourhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
