This restaurant is in the Bairro Alto Hotel. It is small but excellent. The breakfasts were fresh with plenty of choice. The set dinner menu for New Year included lobster, red mullet, steak with foie gras and a stunning dessert. It was beautifully presented and as good as anything you'd be served in a top restaurant. Lovely friendly staff made... More

Delicous food with a beautiful presentation in an incredible environment. Elegant, fancy, but hearty food.

We ate dinner here last night and we're disappointed with the service, in saying that the staff are very pleasant but the menu was handed to us with no information on how it is set out ie we heard another staff member explaining it that one section is shared tapas our preferred choice and then it made sense to us... I typically avoid hotel restaurants - often overpriced and not great. Wow, is this the exception. This place should probably have a Michelin star, it's that good. The food was creative, delicious and beautifully presented. Service was outstanding. In a city where I've found it difficult to find a disappointing meal, Flores remains memorable. As a guest of the associated... More

My wife and I were totally enthralled with the unique tasting lunch with wine pairings. The tomato tartare, turbot, veal and rice pudding were all outstanding and served with a friendly and relaxed elegance. The chef is a master and if all the food is comparable I would enthusiastically recommend. Tremendous gastronomic experience. The restaurant is inside the Bairro Alto... More

My husband and I stopped in at this hotel restaurant and were delighted. I am a vegetarian and the chef prepared an exceptionally delicious menu for me. The green pea risotto was amazing. Both my carnivore husband and I came away very happy and looking forward to returning. HIghly recommended.

We have chosen because of tripadvisor's suggestion. The place is cute and central, the service is great, the food is particular and good. BUT we asked three glasses of vihno verde and three of porto. Porto was 7 euro per glass: I can live with that. But the glass of wine was 13 euros each: we spent 39 euro for... More

This is a great restaurant of modern Portuguese fare. We had the cauliflower soup which was nice, but the best was the seared tuna with sweet potato...a wow! The local wines were fine, and the service was excellent.

As part of a Virtuoso reservation at the Bairro Aalto Hotel, we were offered a free lunch or dinner at the hotel restaurant, the Restaurante Flores do Bairro. We chose the dinner. Having done this before, we expected an abbreviated menu, limited selections and lots of "extras" for drinks and wine. Not here! We received what the chef called "A... More

Description
Flores do Bairro Is located on the ground floor of the Bairro Alto Hotel with spacious Windows looking into Luís de Camões Square and Rua das Flores, right at the heart of the city.Plenty of options to choose from and dishes to share, in a genuine “bairro” kitchen, with a relaxed and casual yet elegant environment; this is what you’ll find at Flores do Bairro restaurant. The decoration is irreverent, traditional, typical from the “bairro”, yet elegant, with a younger, more casual and intimate environment, with the tables placed next to each other and one at the centre of the room for gatherings and for promoting companionship. Colour and a warmer lighting make the space more welcoming. Fabrics range from leather to flower and herringbone patterns, creating a very contemporary space. The sideboard gives an explosion of colour, welcoming the guests into the restaurant and becoming the decorative centrepiece of the space. The window screens provide privacy without eliminating the view to the outside and suggest a more intimate space. The tableware is traditional and with a hand-made touch, evoking older times. This space will simultaneously transport you into the past and into the present.
