A rather gloomy and run down 'Moorish' building but nonetheless interesting to have a look around. Look into the various rooms to admire the tiling and decoration and then, please, leave. First course of cheese and asparagus salad. Large chunks of white cheese, a ton of lettuce, wet, stringy tinned asparagus, no dressing. Main courses, lamb chops and sea bream.... More

The place is situated in a formar palace. Before (or after) you eat do not miss looking at the different halls - it is stunning. The food is very tasty and the service we had was lovely.

Really, just go inside to take the photos, as the place is very pretty but that's all. The waiters are not friendly at all, they look like they're doing you a favor and do'nt work on the hospitality business, really get another job. They pass by you and ignore you, they dont say hello or goodbuy, and if you want... More

Oh my gosh! Rick Steve's tour book mentioned this wonderful place but it is so much more. Took a bit of wandering to find it. Very un-assuming entrance until you reach the foyer! After climbing another set of stairs, we found the restaurant. Wait staff were attentive in spite of a rather full dining room. Dinner was delicious! Perfect end... More

While the food here was good, it is really the Moorish-like interior that is the star. We tried the traditional pork with clams, which was good, but not great. The service was adequate, but you will want to note that the restaurant doesn't open until after 7pm.

The place is an ancient palace and the inside decoration is charming I always stop here to eat a few snacks : soup, delicatessen, cheese with a juice or water. There are two spots to eat , the taverna and the restaurant. Both cheap options !

• Dirty glasses with lipstick • The salmon was burned • Clearly microwaved mashed potatoes and green leaves • So so service. A smile wouldn't hurt

Casa do Alentejo is situated in an magnificent old building and consists of many rooms, some of which can evidently be rented for private occasions. It also has a menu of typical dishes from the Alentejo region. As it seems to be a very popular place, it is a good idea to book a table in advance or arrive relatively... More

I went to this place with my my friends on Thursday. We took an empty table and were sat there for 40 minutes and nobody came to take our order. We went to ask for a menu, then we asked twice if we could order but a waiter served two other tables with people who arrived 20 minutes after us.... More
