Spent a weekend in Coimbra and looked for a place to have lunch on Tripadvisor – since it had good reviews I decided to give it a go – and it was absolutely worth it. The place is fairly small, simple dated decoration – a classic simple Portuguese restaurant – nothing pretentious here. The staff was very nice and friendly.... More

I was there alone for a quick and very tasty dinner. The guy suggested me to try the porc cooked in the wine and it was really delicious! I loved it!!!! I aso had home wine, red, very good. Quick, tasty and not expensive! Good experience.

We could not have enjoyed a meal more. It was fine dining without any fuss. We asked for and took the advice of the host about the menu and the wine and enjoyed the hospitality. There are God knows how many good restaurants in Portugal but for us this one is a standout. All the staff should be proud of... More

Owner is the chef. Uncomfortable hard wooden seating. Good lunch menu. Open kitchen so you can watch the knowledgeable chef. Busy place in a friendly lively area especially at night. Good prices. Highly recommended. English spoken.

this place has a great ambiance and super food / wines, with friendly and expert young staff (including a great sommelier). an ideal taste of Portugal, reasonably priced, and with great fish.

We tried this restaurant at lunch time, wonderful experience. They had very few dishes for lunch, very traditional ones and we tried a main each as portions were abundant. Food was excellent! Service, too. I'm very glad we entered this kitchen, which is not capturing your attention from outside, but once you are in you feel at home. We had... More

We found the host funny and charming, and the atmosphere was cosy and pleasant. We enjoyed our meal very much, though the portions were so generous we couldn't finish our food! My husband had the pork cheek dish, which deserves its kudos in other reviews - just delicious. I ordered the bacalhau a bras, which was simple, fresh and tasty... More

Must try bacalhau com nata. One of the best bacalhau of Portugal, really is! Small place with big deal!

Great traditional dishes both meat (Chanfana definitively to be tested) and fish (bacalaho, etc.). Assorted cheese is a fantastic appetizer (just ask). Family atmosphere with two very kind waiters. Good desserts and some tasty wines from Douro and Dao regions. If you like substance and good old-fashioned family restaurants that's your place.

I dined here because it was one of the few restaurants that were opened at a late hour and because it was rated 10th. Now that's when things went wrong because I expected a lot better. The staff are on an amateur stand and the food is nothing to do with a good gastronomic experience neither it gives a good... More
