A local recommended this cafe bakery to us. All the pastries looked great and as I only had my introduction to the local speciality Ovos moles - it was divine. The cafe was packed with locals on a Sunday afternoon and gave us the feeling...of being part of the crowd. The service was quick and prompt. It’s right near the Forum just across the ribbon bridge and a block away.More

Perfectly situated near the main area without actually being in the too touristy stretch. Mostly Portuguese families when we ate there and I'm not surprised; they clearly know a good place when it comes to cakes, pastries and tarts. Delicious and varied coffee area too....I ate too much of the lovely chocolate gateau and will need a hundred mile hike to walk it off. But it was worth it. My wife had a filo type pastry with custard heaven filling. Stay away from the American chains in the nearby mall and eat/drink here. That's an order.More

On a recent day trip to Aveiro from Porto we were walking back to the train and were badly in need of a coffee hit. This place drew us in with their truly dazzling display of pastries. We had only eaten lunch but were tempted...to eat some more, two coffees with milk and two slices of strawberry flan were just what we needed to get re-energized again. We thought a mistake had been made with the bill as it was so cheap, about €5 for the lot! Fabulous art-deco decor made it feel like we had stepped back in time. A truly lovely place to stop.More

This is the absolute gem of Aveiro. The only place in the whole region where you can have a good mid morning cappuccino. The cakes/tarts are deadly and you can enjoy wonderful service from Austino who is a legend here in Aveiro. Try the Cartuxo...or the famous Chantilly. I sometimes even come here to have tea and do my emails. It's just a great place to be! I love it and I come here every week.More

Lots of great patisseries in Aveiro, but this is the best, wonderful selection! And the place to get the famous "ovos moles".

This is one of the main pastries from the city of Aveiro, located on the main avenue, which connects the Rossio Train Station. Delicious cakes and irresistible (typical) soft eggs (candy).
