It is rather impossible to visit Aveiro and leave without tasting the famous Portuguese "conventual" sweets! And while in Aveiro, one cannot miss a local tradition: the delicious "Ovos Moles d'Aveiro" - a delicacy of eggs and sugar! At "Pastelaria Rossio", right in front of...the Central Canal of Aveiro, you will have a nice opportunity to taste some of the local delicacies. You can even buy a small box and take the sweets to your hotel - a great a night bite! Bon Appétite!More

Walked from the main Aveiro Train station to the river front to snap photos. Spotted this cafe right in front of the river and walked in to take a break. The lady was super friendly and spoke good English. A Nata and a croissant with...a cup of latte... Fantastic! All for only less than 3 euros! Note the croissant here is very filling (different from the kind I eat in Canada which is mostly air). This croissant is tasty but it's kinda like bread so it feels you up a lot!More

This is a small “pastelaria” in a historic row of houses, right downtown by the canal. The coffee drinker in the family tells me their coffee is very good. The pastries are delicious and the ovos moles are among the best in town. their Bolo-Rei,...come Christmas time, is also of very good quality. The location can't be beaten for the quality. Right in the center, by the area where you can take the traditional boats (Moliceiros) for a tour, or the little tuk-tuk train. Right outside the little narrow streets by the canals and fish market, brimming with restaurants. If you want some fresh air, you can buy your pastries and sit outside int e Rossio garden. This garden also turns into the Fan zone and it was busy during the Soccer World Cup when we were there.More

Extremely unprofessional behaviour from the staffs. We ordered a Calipo but was found to be open already. We went back to ask for an exchange having not even left the premise yet but they didnt acknowledge that they were in the wrong & pretended not...to speak English. Shocking customer service as 5 minutes prior to this they managed to converse fluently in English.More

Great place to sit down for a while and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with pastries. They have a vast selection of traditional portuguese sweets, it is even a bit difficult to choose only one. However, having the Ovos Moles is a must,...as it is the city's most famous. They were really delicious. Great experience.More

Do not expect to be very welcome at the store. You'll find everything you'd crave for, very well prepared and with reasonable prices.

The best Ovos Moles (typical sweet made basically with egg yolks and sugar) I had in life. Many other options of candies and cookies to have there or to go. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, among other thinks to drink.

I asked for a small bag of potato chips to go with my grilled ham & cheese sandwich. Out comes a platter of in-house-made potato chips. YUM!!
