And the day was perfect. Good food? No.. Excellent traditional food. Nice people working behind bar. They dont understand english but very fun people trying to help on our decisions. Without tourists this place is the best I ever been!

If you want an authentic Portuguese experience visit this restaurant. We ate here all three nights because it was so good and reasonably priced. We were the only non-Portuguese patrons but received a warm welcome, delicious pork, steaks and chicken cooked in a charcoal grill...in front of you.More

So good we ate here twice on our visit to Aveiro. They have a large charcoal barbecue grill inside the restaurant. Very busy mainly locals. We had the grilled lamb chops - delicious.

Best chicken ever! Small Portuguese restaurant no frills just good food! Fills up fast so go early . Great wine and very good value ! Wish we had found this gem earlier

Wow! What a food experience this turned out to be. Perched beside the bar, we watched as our steaks and chicken were grilled to perfection. Watching the speed and expertise of the chefs was entertainment in itself. The steaks were juicy and tender, yet full...of flavour. Combined with portions of rice and chips and a glass of house wine, this was indeed a taste sensation and incredible value for money. The best steak I've ever tasted for a mere €7!!More

Very informal atmosphere, besides the normal seating it has a long counter where you can sit, eat and watch the food being grilled. I ordered the grilled pork tenderloin ("lombinhos de porco na grelha"), and it was an excellent choice considering the price. You can...order full or half doses of each dish, but a half measure is perfectly adequate for a normal adult appetite. The desserts are good, a reliable choice is the good old chocolate mousse. I will gladly go back there.More

Zico Restaurant is a very good place for having lunch or dinner. People there are very prestative and attencious, besides being friendly. About the food, wonderfull, principally sea food. There is a long chart of good wines. Dessert is another excellent thing to mention.

We have been in Portugal for over 12 days and loved every minute of it. We have found however that some restaurants think they are in prime positions in the worlds leading cities and can therefore charge accordingly. What lovely surprise to find Zico. Unmistakably...a 'meat' place surrounded by fish restaurants. No pretention, just good food prepared in front of the long bar in full sight. Sirloin steak, done as we like it, medium rare with chips (proper thick hand cut, not skinny fries) and a side salad between us. All for €25. Drinks extra but not costing an arm and a leg. Recommend to anyone who likes value for money.More

I'd been here before quite a few years ago and had been impressed then. Nothing has changed, I'm delighted to say. A good range of dishes on offer (at 6-8 euros) and very efficient friendly service. I'd definitely recommend this place for a no-frills but...tasty meal.More

I visited here one Monday evening with a friend. It's not the biggest of places with a lot of seating around the bar. Almost like an American Diner. The kitchen is open for everyone to see We both had steak and fries. Really great.
