someone local recommended. At fist we thought it was more of a cafe because the lights were bright, but really it was quite nice. The night we were there was slow for them and the waiter (perhaps owner) did not speak a lot of English but we made do. We had too much meat if anything. My husband had lamb... More

We were endlessly looking for a decently priced restaurant with good authentic food. We passed by this place a couple times and given its location we were unsure. After getting turned away a couple other places for having full reservations we came back here and they had 1 table open (the restaurant only has about 10 tables). The food was... More

Close to the center, in a small cosy place, with a most typical "alentejano" owner serving at the tables. As advised earlier by Miguel (Top Emotions Tours), we insisted with the owner for his recommendations and, uau, we ate excellent local meals, with a great house wine. Acceptable price for all the food, wine, deserts and a must go place.... More

First impression when cross the door is like the quality of the food would be excellent. Unfortunately we couldn't try it as the restaurant was closed at all the time even with the staff working inside. 1st we arrive at 2.15pm and they said it was closed so we decide to cone back for dinner. 2nd we arrive by 10pm... Some of the reviews focus on the slightly frosty demeanor of the owner, Mr. Joao Marques, but the food is delicious. The vegetable soup was delightful, and the main course of pork chunks with salad and frites didn't disappoint. All this comes with crusty bread, a bowl of olives, a glass of wine and coffee, for under 15€ at lunch.... More

This restaurant is tucked away off the main road but well worth a look. The menu is small, only pork, lamb and some beef seem to feature. However, despite the fact that we were the only customers in the place and the owner speaks little English we had a very enjoyable meal. We had very garlicky mushrooms as appetisers, tasty... More

As it was our last night in the Alentejo, we went looking for a regional restaurant and stumbled upon O Garfo. The food was made fresh and was quite enjoyable and reasonably priced. The pork and clams is worth trying as are the pork loins.

Me and my wife went there after suggestion. The food is good but the owner/waiter has chosen the wrong job!! Very annoying and disappointing. I don't recommend this place!!!
