I visited the Ferryboat this week after it's fantastic recent refurbishment. Big improvement on an already beautiful location. The whole inside is lighter, brighter, more spacious and there is a proper bar in there now which is fab! Really homely. Lots of the same friendly staff so service was spot on, Tribute was great as always and the bowl of... More

Only just reopened after major renovations. Looked forward to seeing how it was and sadly we were disappointed. Gone has the atmosphere of a seaside pub with the hustle and bustle of visitors and locals alike. Now we have little tables dotted about much akin to a restaurant, gone are the comfy sofa's situated around a roaring log fire. The... More

Popped in to see the new look and not disappointed. Lovely welcome from the staff and Alex, the new manager was delightful. Good bowl of soup sitting next to a lovely fire. Will be back

The ferryboat inn is a lovely place with a great view. My family have one of the apartments near so it's great to go there in the evenings for a drink or a game of pool. The food menu however is abit dull as there's only about 5 things on there so there's not much to choose from and if... More

After a beautiful walk through the countryside, we had a very lovely dinner by the fire. I had the sausages on polenta and lentils. It was oustanding! All four members of our party ordered different meals and everyone was pleased. We also had a nice Malbec wine and some local beer. All were great. It was dark when we arrived,... More

Just had one of the best Sunday Lunches ever... again. Absolutely top notch! Succulent beef, really good crunchy roast potatoes, red wine cabbage and whole grain mustard in the cauliflower cheese. Just delicious!

My wife and I stayed at a local hotel at Mawnan Smith and as we travelled by train, the Ferryboat Inn was within walking distance from the Hotel. The Inn seemed to attract many families mostly local, all enjoying the post Christmas atmosphere. Dogs were let loose on the beach, permitted at winter time and we had fun watching the... More

We had a nicer post Christmas walk along the river and decided to pop in for a pint and a bit of lunch. We got a table near the open wood fire which was lovely and cosy on a cold winters days. Lunch was nice and well prepared and we enjoyed what we had although more fish choice would have... More

Situated in a beautiful position right on the beach. Great service and food made for a lovely evening - there was a mixture of drinkers outside and diners in. We really enjoy our time here.

Description
The Ferryboat Inn has been overlooking the beautiful Helford River Estuary for over one century. It has now been taken over by the "Wright Brothers" from the Wrightbrothers Oyster and Porter House and their oyster farm in Cornwall. It now fullfills all the expectations of a pub and combines an oyster counter and a small restaurant.
