Nice place with nice atmosphere. We had mussels and French fries which is quite typical for Belgium. Really tasty

We found this restaurant by accident as we had nearly given up looking as all the restaurants around the area only sold fish which I don't eat! The food here was absolutely unbelievable! I had a cheese croquette starter which came with a lovely salad with dressing which was delicious. Before this with the bread rolls the very friendly and... More

Barcamoule is a great option near the St Catherine's area - we were walking around the Christmas markets and decided to try the moules frites and weren't disappointed. The service was very friendly, which always makes a meal more memorable and the food was yum! Price was average for the area.

Outstanding restaurant. Delicious rabbit, lovely starters, service was excellent, and cheap too. 40 euros for 2 starters, 2 mains, 4 drinks.

I dined alone and found the service very prompt and friendly. I had the Belgian specialty carbonnade flammande and it was very tasty, served with frites. I was also given a small complementary appetiser of rabbit pate with salad - also very nice. Good value meal at only 15 euro for the main.

Nice atmosphere. Good wine at a good price. The mussels and French fries were the best we had in Brussels.

A warm welcome from Madame, our hostess, & a large table in a restaurant only half-full, so no excess noise or activity. Brandhoutkaai is on the distaff side of St Katerina's old canal & less popular, but La Barcamoule rates highly in my book. We were given a quality, tasty amuse-bouche while the mussels were being cooked, & they were... More

The restaurant is very well located on Place St Catherine, just opposite the row of seafood places. We got some complimentary homemade cheese in a small cup, which was nice. Took 6 oysters for a starter, I found them among the smallest ones I ever ate. The monkfish was well cooked but lacked a characteristic taste and seasoning. I liked... More

Disappointed, the food didn't really live up to the reviews. The mussels I had were spongey in texture, rather than firm fleshed. I'm sure they were OK, but not particularly pleasant. Perhaps that's the way Belgian mussels are, dunno. Also, the fries had quite a buttery flavour, which isn't what I'd expect. Again, perhaps that's the way they do them... More
