Been there several times. The location is perfect, especially the outdoor seats on sunny days. The coffee and tea are alright. Tried their pasta once – it was terrible but could be forgivable for a 'cafe'. However, the service is always unforgivably slow and incredibly unfriendly.

The Cafe is a 10 min. walk away from the Brussels Grand Place and easily reached by Metro (station Saint Catherine), close to th basilica. It is a great place to meet up with friends, and drinks are fairly priced and served fast. A "dagschotel" (dish of the day) is also available for 12 - 15 EUR, which is common... More

De Markten is more of a cultural center than just a restaurant or bar. Located right in Brussel's city center, it has a hip, and relatively young audience. Atmosphere is really cool. You may have to wait a bit before the food arrives (healthy food, all fresh), sometimes. The terrace is great in summer, and the changing exhibition programme (contemporary... More

Marwan, what a great guy.. Stopped for a quick drink with the family and was pleasantly surprised at how well Marwan looked after us, as well as all the guests he was serving. All the staff are very friendly and I highly recommend this place if your in Brussels. Made us feel very welcome. We really enjoyed our stop there.... More

Staff were very fun, lovely and friendly. Drinks a little pricey but really well made and presentation was great. Would definitely go again.

Solid Flemish bar with basic food such as spaghetti bolognaise. Reasonable sized bar, meeting rooms and a large terrace at the front where many celebrities gather including Arno.

Despite the poor service, there was a good crowd in, many of whom were eating. We found a table but nobody came near us to serve us. Eventually we approached the bar and put in our drinks order. The waiter eventually came with the drinks and did not take the payment offered! Eye contact from staff was nil - they... More

Stopped in for breakfast - had the Maxi. A egg, coffee (make sure ask for an cappuccino unless you want a espresso), juice, pastry and bread with cheese. We added a musli just to be sure. Great place, light breakfast options but looks good for lunch or a late snack. Great for students or "working" during your morning coffee.

We stopped here for a drink because the restaurant that we wanted to visit didn't open until about 20 minutes after we arrived. Lots of people were here with their handis (cell phones) and IPad and laptops. Others were paired off and a few were eating. We just wanted a drink which we had and enjoyed. The service was good,...
