This cute little restaurant was part of a food tour. We stopped in for Pannenkoeken and they were excellent! I continued to try them at other places around the city, but those at Cafe du Prins were lighter, fluffier, and just plain better! I've been back every time I'm in A'dam.

Waiting time of 45 min, quality of the food was at that point irrelevant... Ok if you want to rest your feet after strolling the streets, but if you have better ideas to spend your time in Amsterdam, you should consider another place to eat

We had the cheese fondue which was delicious. The service was also very good. Will definitely visit again, as a newcomer to Amsterdam.

With lots of other cafes in the neighbourhood, we opted for de Prins after looking in the window and noting the friendly buzz -- busy, cozy, soft lighting - making for a good seeing and by the positive buzz, hope for a good meal. We were not disappointed. Enough choice on the menu for a vegetarian with good options for... More

We went in here on the first night of our visit to Amsterdam. It was busy but we managed to find 2 seats at the bar just for a couple drinks. I wanted to try a local drink and saw a Dutch man drinking something different at the bar. I asked the barman what it was and ordered one alongside... More

Thought this was a good value bar/cafe for a lunch near the Anne Frank Museum. Nice atmosphere and layout inside and I had a sardine sandwich for 7 euros that was very good.

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch. They start serving dinner at 6pm. Really cute place and cozy. There was a young man helping and even younger man do his homework at the table across from us. We had the Erwtensoep which is a pea soup with bits of sausage in it. It was very good and... More

Brilliant location on the canal looking over at westerkerk and Anne frank house. We enjoyed great beer and snacks with the toasted sandwiches making a great light lunch. A full menu was also available. Seating outside allows you to enjoy the full atmosphere of true Amsterdam.

Just dropped for a while to rest a bit during discovering Amsterdam. If you are there do no not miss a cappuccino, it was one of the best one I have ever tasted.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
