Reviewed yesterday NEW

We were looking for a late meal on our first night in Amsterdam and we could not have been made to feel more welcome. We were the last people in the restaurant but they happily replenished food and drinks. We had a selection of foods and it was great, really tasty. Would definitely recommend.

As we walked to our table, we spotted numerous other tables each with this elevated hot plate with multiple small dishes atop. I asked the waitress what they were. I'm usually chicken about dinners like that, but we ordered it. Nasi Kuning Tujuh Maret. Most excellent.

The rice tabe we ordered here was quite a disappointment compared to other restaurants, both in terms of meal sizes and taste. The waiter was trying hard to charm the large group on the table next to us who appeared to enjoy themselves, but paid little attention to our end. We had ordered some drinks that never arrived but were... More

Although the restaurant was very basic and functional we had a warm welcome from the owner and the various starters we shared for lunch were all excellent, lively flavours, and very authentic. Service was a little slow ,given the few diners, but as all food was all freshly cooked this was acceptable. Fresh flame lilies on the table unusual and... More

We visited this restaurant for lunch. There is not much room for street parking around but it's in the city center close to everything. It's a small restaurant and the service was a bit slow because it was busy. However it was worth the wait. The menu offers a good choice of dishes and the food is simply delicious and... More

I've been here on my last three visits to Amsterdam and each time it gets better. The restaurant itself is small and cosy, located on a nice street. From my own perspective the tables by the window are the best. What makes this restaurant so good is both the food and staff. The Rijkstafel is very tasty, although I generally... More

We went to Tujuh Maret late on a Sunday afternoon. It is a charming little restaurant with friendly and attentive wait staff. We will go again when we return to Amsterdam. Is it truly Indonesian food? Beats me, but it tasted great! By all means try the Mango ice cream dessert. My wife is not a fan (to say the... More

This restaurant was in the top 10 restaurants in Amsterdam in our guide book. We were a little worried at first, as we were the first people in the restaurant. However It certainly did not disappoint. We did eat relatively early and the restaurant began to fill as we got through the rice table. We had never had anything like... More

Not going to go at great lengths to justify my review, it was mediocre at best and I'm bring kind when I put it this way. It wasn't even near authentic, (married for over 30 years to an Indonesian wife, been there 5 times) portioning is extremely meagre. Luke warm, all in all cooked and served without any love for... Management response:

Dear Mr. Gourmand_Grey, We are sorry to hear about your experience. However we are sure you are writing about the wrong restaurant. As our cooks and also our waiters/waitresses are from Indonesia. We have an open kitchen, so if you really took a glimpse in our open kitchen, you will see yourself that our cooks are Indonesians and not like... More

We had a meal for two one evening here, whilst it was a small restaurant with tables quite close together, it carried off a good atmosphere, the staff were very good at advice as we hadn't eaten this type of food before, whilst it was similar to most oriental restaurants there is a difference of course. We went for a... More
