The jams and pastries are very tasty and homemade. Try the flavoured bread (cynnamon, raspberries...) it is amazing. The local is nice and smells amazing from all the pastries they make!

The menu is not so big, and anyway they didn't have what we ordered. Although we were flexible with that part, they practically send us out in a rude way because of the noise of my 2 years old. And it's supposed it's part of their vision to be a child friendly place.

Visited as 2 friends for breakfast during a long weekend in Amsterdam. Was so good we went back the following day. Atmosphere was lovely and the passion fruit curd was one of the best things we have ever tasted! Cannot recommend highly enough, it's a must visit when in Amsterdam.

One of the best bakeries in Amsterdam with some awesome sandwiches. Very comfortable place to visit and a must visit place in Amsterdam. Slightly difficult to find but worth the effort.

Not far from where we were staying, this bakery/ cafe was great for breakfast. The decor is very sweet, lots of character, fresh flowers on the table, along with homemade jars of jam and passion fruit butter. At the back the cafe opened up onto a small garden filled with greenery and flowering plants, very peaceful and pleasant. The waitress quickly... More

We were recommended the Bakkerswinkel for breakfast & it didn't disappoint. Lovely fresh bread, scones, home made muesli & fresh croissants. Cooked breakfasts for those who want them which looked amazing. So good, we went back for breakfast on our second day and then for lunch on our last day in the city. Mainly because we really wanted to try... More

On a weekend break and wanted somewhere for breakfast. Found this lovely little place and had the perfect Dutch breakfast. They even had a choice of soy or almond milk. I had the eggs with young cheese, big portion and very yummy. Food was served quickly by lovely attentive staff and was all great including the curds and jam on... More

What a wonderful way to start the day! Such a cozy atmosphere, very friendly service and amazing scones!! Don't miss the lemon curd and passion fruit curd-- really yummy (and you can buy some to take with you). We had to come back a few days later to enjoy it all over again...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
