This place is not one that will stand out in your memory, at least that was the way with me. Burgers, beef stew shrimp all good.

Nice little eatery. It is true, Amsterdam is not sure of places to eat and drink so a place needs to be spectacular to stand out.... This cafe is not spectacular. However, the staff are pleasant and food was well presented and tasty. Can't complain. Not much vegetarian choice but a nice atmosphere.

Visited Cafe van Zulen for a beer and a burger, a friday afternoon. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. We got no surpriser. The service was fair enough, and the burger decent. Seems to be a safe, although not very exciting stop. A decent meal in a nice enough spot close to the city center.

It was so good when we ate there last year that we went back again this year. Located about 2 1/2 blocks off Dam Square on the way to the Ann Frank House, the heavy foot traffic running outside makes for great people-watching. We split a good club sandwich and had a couple of beers and enjoyed the view and... More

Food is very nice. Go for the spinach quiche with almonds and get the apple pie for desert. Inside is more intimate and quite but sitting on the on top of the canal beige is hard to miss.

Our travel companions found this place on their way back from Anne Frank's house. We had made reservations at another place and they suggested this place would really fit our last day celebration. We were not disappointed. The service was great and the food was wonderful. Highly recommend this treasure.

I slowly grew to enjoy Bitterballen at this place. Other than that, the caprese panini was just ok. Front patio area is a nice spot to drink a beer. Honestly, it's Amsterdam.. you'll find a million spots just like this.

Dutch pub food with Grolsh on tap. Cool vibe and a local hangout. A tad spendy for food. Cheese nachos were about $9. A little overpriced.

If you want breakfast, brunch or just enjoy a beer while view a canal that is a place to visit. They offer Grolsch and ask for the flutes or the smallest serving size. It's refreshing, yummy and if the day is sunny I can't imagine a better place to be in Amsterdam center. Also the bitballer and the meatballs are... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
