Sometimes when food, drinks, service and atmosphere click together, what you get is more than each of them separately. This is what our dining experience in Yamazato was. The food was great ( we had the Hana Kaiseki menu) the sakes were excellent (we had the matching sake paring), the service was professional and friendly, and the setting in the... More

I wanted to visit this restaurant for years and finally got to visit it last thursday. It was totally worth it. I visited Japan 3 times and have eaten there in all sorts and classes of restaurants of various styles so I knew what to expect but also to know if it was good. And oh my how good was... More

Yamazato is still the best option for Japanese food in Amsterdam. Impeccable service, creative dishes and great sake sommeliers. Interior might be up for an overhaul, but still the best.

If you like Asian food and want to experience a long and nice Japanise environment, go to Yamazato restaurant at the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam. They serve different meals but the seasonal menu offers an array of plates really good. And you pay only 50 euros for a 5 different plates, served by Japanese women dressed like gueixas and capable... More

Last Friday we had dinner at Yamazato, to celebrate all great things happened to us in the last year. The location and the restaurant itself are incredible, the stuff are very attend and very knowledgeable, and that makes the whole experience unforgettable. We went for the chef special menu, with 8 courses and matching wine-sake. The purity of the fish... More

And yet again I had dinner at this marvelous restaurant. This time with two English speaking friends. Like me, they were overwhelmed by the different tastes, the wondrous presentation of the dishes and the very friendly and professional waitress. Indeed, the pronunciation of her English was sometimes a little bit hard to follow, but this makes me wonder about the... More

With a Japanese business relation I visited this restaurant and was truly complemented by our selection. We had great Japanese food and our guest was thrilled by the fact that the menu also contained cherry blossom ice and cream. Can recommend also for non Japanese people, loved the fresh sushi and sake

Food was good, sake was great, being asked to leave before they had actually passed us the bill, nor been around to be asked the bill- simply rude. A shame because this was not our waitress, who was otherwise very nice. Maybe floor manager? In any case, from a restaurant like this I expect more social grace. Left feeling fairly... More
