Great spot to catch your breathe after wandering about Amsterdam. Canal is a little rustic, but the service is good and the food tastes and inexpensive. Great place for a beer or two on a warm Amsterdam day

We visited Mata Hari several times during our stay in Amsterdam. The menu provides an excellent and varied selection, the lamb cutlets and 'catch of the day' both proved very popular with us. There is a good wine list too (recommend the Lebanese Red) and...More

Situated in the city center, this is a pretty good resturant: good food, nice vibe, beautiful position. Nothing else to say.

This the only place that we went twice during our short stay in Amsterdam. Huge variety of local draft beers and really friendly service with reasonable prices. Just off the Red Light District but with the different guests.

I live in Amsterdam and have visited this restaurant/bar a couple times. The atmosphere can be enjoyable even when the location becomes over crowded, which it often does. However, I must warn non-native Dutch patrons to be aware that a few (not all) of the...More

Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the
Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its
saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to
view some of the city’s most picturesque canals,
historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples
of traditional local architecture – not to mention
Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist
temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some
