My friend and I had lunch here and we were both extremely happy. She had the hamburger (which has fried egg! and comes with a salad, fries, and potato salad) and I got the croque Madame, which was just incredible (they even wrote "Madame" in mustard on the plate!). We also got bitterballen, because my friend hadn't yet tried this... More

Bouf, is great before a concert (be sure to reserve), small outside area, inside seating is comfortable with good atmosphere. Service good and friendly. An omelette, salad, or sandwich make an ideal lunch. Happy to be back and recommend.

We stopped in for coffee and cake after visiting a museum. Very few patrons at 3 pm. Our surly waitress was annoyed that we were there. I asked her a question about a "butter cake with almond paste" and she sneered as she told me she could not explain it. We ordered a coffee and a hot chocolate. We did... More

Should have booked at 6.30 to be in time for concert at 8.15 as the service was slow. Only had time for one course which was very good. Would love to have time to return and eat at leisure. The staff were welcoming and friendly

We stopped here for lunch one afternoon, with no idea what to expect. The dining area was bright, comfortable and welcoming. The oven - baked sandwiches were excellent, and the coffee as well.

We were looking for a restaurant near Museumplein as we went to the Van Gogh Museum on Friday evening. Bouf is a nice place to have dinner, food is good, service is okay (dinner was not served simultaneously), overall a bit too expensive. However one of the best picks near Museumplein.

Very welcoming and quite cozy. The food was good but a little fragmented in delivery. It is quite expensive.

I was looking for a nice place to have tea ☕ and Bouf was just right. It was intimate, quite to chat and very relaxing.

Great atmosphere to sit down, have a coffee, get some work done, and then enjoy a lunch and watching the passersby. The service was friendly and warm, and the food was lovely. Would recommend 10/10

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
