Positives: Lovely restaurant in terms of decor and location - in a quiet suburb on the outskirts of the centre. Service was excellent, really chatty waitress and very attentive. Negatives: Sadly let down by both food and wine. We had the taster menu of six courses and a bottle of red. Taster menu at 50 euro and bottle at 30.... More

This comfy restaurant in an old Amsterdam House has an intresting menu. You can choose from several fascinating dishes. We had a 6 course menu and every bite was a surprise. Include an extensive winelist (which is a bit confusing) and a very pleasant service makes this restauarnt a must in Amsterdam!

Went here on the recommendation of a new-found dutch friend. Found the food to be stellar - so much flavor and creativity, paired with an excellent bottle of wine. The particular waiter seemed to have lost us - perhaps due our table location upstairs in a corner, perhaps it was a bad night. We are used to the relaxed pace... More

6 dishes (one pumpkin, two fish, one poached egg, one flank steak, dessert), 50% good and 50% sublimely good! Romantic place with lots of stairs. Very convenient from the Yayy apart hotel and the area is lovely and devoid of tourists. We had a small issue but the staff handled it really well. The tasting menu took about 2.5 hours!!... More

One of the disadvantages of being in a long-distance relationship is the difficulty of celebrating family holidays, like Christmas, together. Not being together in Christmas, though, doesn’t mean we don’t deserve a nice pre-Christmas dinner, so off we went to find something nice in Amsterdam. After doing some website research, we found a nice place, where we could have a... More

This cosy restaurant and bar in the north of the city - about 20-minutes walk from Centraal Station - was so good we had to make two visits. The unique and distinctive food is a delicious, innovative blend of Dutch and international influences. There’s a standard starters-and-mains menu, but on both trips we opted for the wonderful sampling menu: a... More

Good atmosphere in this neighbourhood restaurant close to where we were staying. We had an enjoyable meal but the curtain which kept the draft out from the main entrance also hid a steep flight of steps - not expected so fell down them (not the worse for drink) I ended up with a badly sprained ankle which spoiled my last... Definitely one of the best meals my partner and I have had full stop. We choose the set menu of 6 dishes each and couldn't fault any. Each dish was small but well balanced and full of big flavours. Highlights were the cream cheese, carrot and pumpkin taster (sounds less impressive than it looked and tasted) and the dessert of... More

This establishment was recommended to us as it was very close to where we stayed. The selection of small hot and cold dishes @€9 ea was excellent but we opted for a main and dessert/cheese each with drinks. Food was full of flavour and very satisfying. €160 for four hungry diners and worth every cent.

Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
