On a walking tour of Jordaans we stopped off for a quick and very late lunch. We were offered a range on pinchos. Very nice and good value. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Very busy restaurant but they managed to find us a table without a reservation. Appears to be very popular with the locals. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Good atmosphere with excellent food.

Superb little restaurant. Very busy when we got there and we had to wait a few minutes for a table, but well worth the wait. Friendly and welcoming staff. Superb food and desserts to die for. We will be back on our next visit to Amsterdam.

Staff were super friendly and food was delicious. A great night. Small and requires booking in advance. Nice tapas available from the counter to start.

The whole thing was good - we had no booking - that wasn't a problem, the waiter explained the set up really well, the waitress described each of the pinxtos in great detail, the food was delicious, and it wasn't even that expensive. Excellent!

Enjoyed many of the tapas, ordering them on sight and an incredible chocolate mousse with warm marinated strawberries for dessert. A gorgeous soft lit restaurant.

A wonderful small Spanish restaurant serving northern Spanish pinxtos. Food was immaculate and even though we arrived after lunch and before evening service we were well looked after. Wine was decent but it was the pinxtos that shone through. Large enough for a decent snack but if you combined a few then it would certainly fill you up! Will be... More

We stumbled across this little gem researching where to eat whilst queuing for the Anne Frank Museum and I am so glad we called ahead to book. It is, understandably, a very popular place with both locals and tourists alike. A speciality of La Olivia is the tapas dishes, which are not only reasonably priced, but are to die for!... More

Especially if the Spanish bartender is there she is absolutely amazing. Everything was so delicious. And not that pricey.

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
