Visited Citrus for the first time on Friday, in one of the worst storms in a decade, and it was worth braving the weather! Citrus is a cosy little restaurant in the centre of Den Bosch, with an inviting atmosphere. All the staff were very...friendly and accommodating. We went for the 6-course chef’s menu with accompanying wine arrangement, and there was not a bum note anywhere. Every course was beautifully-presented, well-balanced, surprising but also very satisfying, which is not always the case with fine dining. The chef seems to have a particular skill in balancing opulent ingredients with a real lightness of touch, eg a soup of foie gras, truffle and dark chocolate could have been overpowering and too rich, but was light as a feather. The wines were often unusual but expertly-matched to the dishes. By the end of the meal, we were sated and happy, and very much looking forward to our next visit!More

It’s a small restaurant but the chef and his team makes you feel welcomed. They offer a fix menu but the chef can adapt the dishes if you have a food allergy. It’s good for 2-4 persons not for large groups. If you are in...DenBosch looking for a romantic, delightful dinner, ready to be surprised by the chef, try good wines, don’t hesitate. Make a booking. Had dinner here with a group of collegues. All of the dishes were good, the presentation was beautiful, taste was fine, I wouldn't say the taste lived up to the expectation of the presentation. Waitress was a bit abrupt, not of the same standard as...the chef. Place is quite small so not good for large groups. Nice place for a dinner for couples.More

Having a two hour break for my next concert during the Den Bosch Jazz Festival I happened to pass this restaurant. Having no reservation I walked in and was welcomed by the chef to take a seat. After having ordered a G&T I surveyed my...surroundings and they were certainly pleasing. A small but intimate restaurant, maybe the tables are a bit too close to each other but no complaints from me. A three course menu with accompanying wines I decided to go for. All impeccably served. Fine food indeed. Including my espresso I paid €69. Now that's value for money. I certainly recommend this restaurant and thank you owner couple.More

Have been wanting to go to Citrus for 3-4 months but it only happened now; what have we missed? A lot of innovative, tasty and colourful combination of spices and meats and vegetables. This is a truly classy place where service and food quality are...equally high. We will be back many times!!More

Yesterday we enjoyed a delicious menu at Citrus. We heard a lot of positive recommendations from friends and colleagues. The menu and wine menu fullfilled our high expectations. Well balanced dishes, great tast and fish perfectly prepared (baked on the skin). The meatdish was perfectly...tender. Nice and cosy atmosphere in the restaurant. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. We will certainly visit Citrus in the future.More

Paul and Jill are now at it for a few years. And rather than showing the first signs of wear and tear, they've only become more relaxed and confident in their performance, allowing this two man band more time with their guests. On this wednesday...evening, the place was fully booked as usual, here that only means some 20 patrons. While the tables are very close together, the accoustics are such (thanks to the floor carpet) that privacy is quite okay. This evening Jill was managing the front on her own effortlessly. Paul discusses the menu, both ponder on food wine paring, and will allow you to taste and discuss at lenght. As in any good restaurant, the menu is assuringly brief, and the dishes arrive in a steady flow from the tiny kitchen. Don't be in a hurry though. We limited ourselves to starters, firm believers that chefs try harder on starters. The scallop ceviche blew our socks of. An explosion of acidity, flowers and sweet touches with all ingredients coming together in this one combined taste experience. The lobster salad, while very well prepared, was a more traditional affair. The sweatbread (difficult!) with duck liver was classy; crispy without being fat. While too much sweatbread can be quite overwhelming, pieces could have been a tad bigger for me. Whines turned out to be an excellent spätburgunder and a viognier/chardonnay. Dessert and cheese were fine, but not spectacularly so. At €150 for two including aperitives good value. Go there, but do make a reservation, or you will be disappointed.More

My husband and I live in Den Bosch and have frequented many of the typical restaurants in the city. Citrus was on our list for a long time, but we finally made it there this evening. Highlights of my night were the extremely friendly and...warm service by the small staff, seeing the small operation happen in the tiny, tiny kitchen in the back, and the truffled honey served with the cheese plate. Let me say that again. Truffled honey. To die for. We did the surprise menu with wine pairing and it didn't disappoint. Seasonal ingredients sourced from local vendors. This should be a stop on anyone's foodie tour of Den Bosch!More

Believe the other reviews. This tiny, intimate restaurant is just off the main restaurant pitch of Korte Putstraat, so you can congratulate yourselves on being edgy and adventurous in getting about 20 metres away from everyone else. We were here on the strength of those...reviews and also found ourselves having the surprise menu. Between us we have some quirky food exceptions and the chef steered expertly around these. We went for wine pairing with each course and were glad we did (and were corrected on any lingering prejudice against German red wines). I'd go back to s'Hertogenbosch on the strength of this restaurant alone (and there's a lot more to s'Hertogenbosch). For what it was and where it is, very good value.More

The restaurant we had intended to visit was full, and while casting around for somewhere else to go we were drawn to the brightly lit window of Citrus, a delightful little place with only a dozen or so tables. Only the set menu was displayed...outside, rather giving the impression that there was no choice, but once seated we were presented with a short but pleasing selection. The charming waitress patiently translated it all into English for us. We had a splendid meal, beautifully cooked and presented, the ingredients well balanced without being over-complicated, and very reasonably priced for the superb quality. Service very friendly and a good, cosy atmosphere. A perfect find on a cold winter's night.More

Delish surprise menu from the chef, who is cooking in an open plan kitchen in the back of this cosy and nicely decorated restaurant. Great attention for detail.

The restaurant is situated right in the center of 's-Hertogenbosch. There are plenty restaurants around. De place is small and because it is neccessary to make turnover tabels are maybe too close to eachother. The food is good, also is the preparation, but certainly not...cheap.The wines are adjusted to the price of the food, so not cheap. Overall we had a pleasant night.More

A restaurant with a nice atmosphere, but the food I had was extremely bland. As a starter I had scallops with an oyster and granny smith sauce, and a main course fish with a lobster sauce. It all was very disappointing, both the scallops and...fish were so bland, and the sauces did not compensate for that. Perhaps I was unlucky with my choice of dishes as my partner was much more satisfied with the food he tasted, but even so, I will not be coming there again...More

When your boss invites you to dinner, and he takes you to such a great place, you know your work is appreciated! ;-)) The menu at Citrus is pretty straightforward, the choices are complete yet not redundant. The Chef is smart to go for quality...and not quantity. I had the lobster starter, and tasted some magic ingredients to make it a tad spicy, most and completed with duck liver rolls. It was amazing. The place is set in a quaint little storage building. Only be aware: the restrooms are located in the basement, and although beautifully done, the stairs are a bit of a challenge.More
