Pilkington is an absolutely stunning restaurant. It is located in a monumental building right acros of the famous St Jans Kathedraal. The decor is gorgeous and feels very much like it could be featured in a Country Homes and Living magazine. Lovely wallpaper, stylish furniture,...a very ornate ceiling decorations. It is modern yet cozy. Based on the looks, the menu and the prices I had high hopes. We received lovely bread and dips as an entre. As a starter I ordered the Buratta salad. It looked like a little piece of art, but personally taste-wise I wasn't blown away. As a main course I had the fish and chips. It was a very big portion and again, it looked perfect. Yet again it could have been prepared better. It was very fatty, like the oil hadn't been hot enough. I know fish and chips is always a bit fatty, but I have eaten it many times in many different establishments and there is definitely a difference in taste and structure. It was very hard chosing a dessert as there were so many delicious looking options. In the end I opted for the crumble. This was very tasty. Unfortunately, my partners dessert had been partly burned. In conclusion I wouldn't come back just because of the quality of the food. I do feel like it is a shame as there is so much so thought and effort put it to all of the little details; from the decor, to the set up of the plates, to the individually stamped cookies with the logo.More

We've been here on several occassions, and the place never disappointed us. The staff is friendly and nice, they are well-prepared. They have vegetarian and gluten-free options too. Big plus! I can only recommend the place, the interior and the garden is beautiful, however, be...prepared, this is a real slow food experience - you won't get served in 5 minutes :) perfect for high tea, lunch or dinner.More

Thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon coffee stop. More a 4.5 then 5, but better than a 4. The let down was the length of time to wait for service, and also the receiving of. Aside from that, bloody lovely coffee and a fantastic apple crumble. Hot...out of the oven (rewarmed, yes, but still fresh made) I burned my finger on the ramekin. The hostess should have said the ramekin was hot (burning hot) but she did not. Interior is stunning, very picturesque and the perfect place for a traditional high tea. Unfortunately the only time I took the phone out for a snap was on my departure, so the attached was out the back. There are enough pics of the internal space for all to see online. A happy happenstance this was. Very lovely visit.More

Once or twice a year we are here to visit the St.Jan Cathedral and graveyard of our parents and invariably have lunch at Pilkington's. The place is always packed and although seating is tight we enjoy being here. There is a good choice of sandwiches,...salads and soups etc. We had smoked duck sandwich and smoked salmon sandwich, both with all the trimmings and good all-wheat bread. Delicious.More

With so many great coffee shops and cafe's around this one is a bit dissapointing, 4 of us, 2 Aussies and 2 Dutchies, cakes were ok, and coffee was very average, but fortunately you don't have to walk far for somewhere else to try.

We had breakfast at Pilkington's while waiting for our boat tour of the town. While breakfast was a little small it was very tasty and I thought the capuccino was delicious. Small yet charming place.

Hubby and I are staying just around the corner from Pilkington's and just wandered in on the off chance for supper. We were gratified to learn that we were able to stay and chose a table that looked out to a very pretty courtyard. The...interior is deceptively large, the seating comfortable and the staff charming. I had the veal (melted in my mouth) with spinach and pearl barley - gorgeous! Hubby went for the shepherd's pie (he loved it!). Pilkington's serve up English dishes with a Dutch twist. I would say that this establishment definitely deserves a visit. EnjoyMore

I have visited this English style of breakfast-brunch-lunch-dinner place since the launch in 1990. Love the garden at the back of the place. Their own home made bakery produces most items on the menu. I took my mum out for a late afternoon early /...dinner on Sunday. Although we arrived ‘late’ for the lunch menu, the waitress was flexible and let us choose from the lunch menu. Dishes were all great but what really made me write this review is Judith, who was super friendly and made my mum (81) feel at home. Thanks for another great evening English Style in Brabant!More

Just here for the day and found this place, really close to the cathedral. Wanted lunch and other half chose a cheese ploughman’s and I had the meat ploughman’s. The bread was warm and very tasty. The meat ploughman’s was pate, rare beef and continental...ham. The cheese one had Stilton, Sage cheddar and another cheese with red wine. Each had a spicy chutney. We treated ourselves to French fries too. For afters we shared a local delicacy - Bosch Ball. Soft drink and bottled beer and bill came to just under €35. Staff lovely and helpful. Very pleased with our find.More

We had our mains here as part of a walking dinner tour of the town. The food was really, really disappointing! The veal cheeks were so bland and tasteless that I only had a few mouthfuls. My colleagues who had the fish said it was...dry. Truly disappointing. If this was a personal visit, I would have sent the dish back.More

It's a great place with good service and a great variety of teas. But coffee is just OK and their cheese cake is just not OK. Our cheese cake reference is Les Tartes Françoise, and this was the opposite: little taste and very heavy. So...we enjoyed the place but less enjoyed the culinary experience.More

We had a high tea and it was very lovely; starting with a glass of sparkling wine, different varieties of nice flavoured teas, lots of sweet desserts and the savour dishes. We were SO full after it and couldn't finish everything which was super sad...(haha). It was all so yummy ! :) Atmosphere was lovely and service was also very great 👍🏻 place itself looks amazing and made me feel like being in Britain haha :) I'll definitely come back and recommend this to others.More

Visited Pilkingtons today for lunch. Sat outside which was really nice as the sun was out. Went for the fish and chips. Overall ok but being a brit when I order fish and chips I expect something like a fillet not not something resembling kibbeling....Anyway the fish was tasty but the portion size small. Mushy minted peas were nice but more a puree. Service was good with friendly staff. Other reviewers say it is pricey but seeing it is a prime location I woudl expect that. Will happily visit againMore

The atmosfere in the back yard is very nice and it is nice to gab a drink, but to have a meal is defenitly not worth the money. It was quite expensive for the quality and portion size, we were 2 and paid 30 euros...for a soup, 2 drinks and a meat pie with almost no meat on it, it was worth half the price we paied or even less.More
