My husband and I went on a date night to "The Blind Cow" and it was a unique dining experience. I really enjoyed it, mostly because it allowed me to relate better to a blind friend of mine. My husband, on the other hand, didn't feel as comfortable in the room. We chose the "Surprise 3 course menu," and the... More

the experience to eat in complete darkness and choosing "surprise" is really special ! the service was very friendly and we had a funny evening. if you are looking for an inusual dinner-experience it is ok. ad the food with beverage is ti expensive for the quality of the taste you get - going once is enough. quantity is ok... We look to book a table for ages, as we were coming from lugano and having only weekends available. Finally we did it. I think we book in January to get a table in April for 4 people ( ok, I'm a date that for us all). The experience is amazing, but the service extremely slow. We order the drinks... More

Dear alix550 Thank you very much for the review and for coming all the way from Lugano to experience an evening at the blindekuh. Since we are not a regular restaurant, and neither is our service team, the entire experience needs a little bit more time and patience. As you mentioned it yourself, the waiting time is usually at the... More

My daughter asked me to go blind cow for more then two years. Had been before and did not found it suitable for little children. Blind cow recommends to be at least 7 years old before going. Anyway, my daughter was older then that and could choose the place because it's was her birthday. Arrival is difficult, tram is possibly... More

Dear Oliver Thank you very much for your visit and your positive feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with your daughter at blindekuh. Regarding the age of children visiting our restaurant: We do recommend the age of seven years, since experience has shown that being in the dark can be too challenging for children below... More

Dined here during a short stay in Zürich and was not disappointed by the experience. The premise of the restaurant is that you are to dine as if you were blind. When you walk into the restaurant the staff has you lock up all your belongings (no cheating with a cell phone light during your meal!) in a locker, which... More

As soon as we heard about this restaurant, it was a must visit. We had never experienced anything like this before and it was brilliant, if uneasy at times. First of all, you must book - it seems to be fully booked all of the time so try to reserve a table in advance. You then need to put all... More

I went along with my colleagues, we were around 10 people and we had reserved a table. The reception is bright and they briefly explain you about how things work and tell you about the menu. Then the waitress (who was blind) asked us to make a chain and lead us through 3 thick curtains and the place was pitch... More

I went to Blinde Kuh on a Saturday night with my boyfriend, we had booked a table for two at eight and everything was in order. We wanted to eat dinner here for the experience of understanding a little about the difficulties faced by blind people. We certainly found the experience to be eye-opening. The restaurant is pitch black dark. You can't see anything at all, not even your own hand. The only time I've been in a place as dark as Blinde Kuh was when... More

Me, my sister and our father went here to eat just for fun, really. How often do you get to eat in pitch black room?? The food is rather average, I would never pay that much if it wasn't for the whole experience the visit gave us. The first minutes is a bit intense since you can't see ANYTHING, but... More

blindekuh – the name means "Blind Man's Buff" in German – was founded in 1999 and was the first establishment of its kind in the world. Our businesses are sponsored by the blindekuh Foundation.

blindekuh is one of the largest private-sector employers for people with impaired vision. In our restaurants and through our cultural activities, we create valuable jobs, foster dialogue between sighted people and those with visual impairments, and open up new perspectives for young and old alike.

Dining at blindekuh is a treat for all your senses, even though your eyes won't take part in the feast. Our creative kitchen team will conjure up delicacies on your plate that don't need to be seen to be believed – fresh, seasonal and always a surprise.
