Superb meat. Best in a while - so soft and delicious. Could have done with more veg garnishes and a less sweat sauce but that is a small detraction from this great filet. Wine and service excellent too. We had to their 'house' assemblage...

This excellent restaurant specializes (like many in Zermatt) in lamb dishes. We had entrecote d' agneau (perfectly cooked, rare of course) with a nice red wine and (for me) the salad bar, which had a fine selection of local lettuce types and all the trimmings....More

We had a wonderful dinner at Julen, with each dish perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. However, it was Bruno that made our evening so special...he took great care of us, helping us navigate the menu and pairing each course with a local wine. Highly recommend...More

They are very keen to make a good impression and see to your every need. There is no rush to finish your meal, which, in our case, was a 5 course feast, included in our half-board stay. Only the wine (very expensive but good quality)...More

The family-owned Hotel Julen has been around since the 1930s. Its fine dining restaurant features lamb raised on the family's farm. Of course, we had to sample some! We came for lunch on a day with high overcast, but it was warm enough to sit...More

We'd been recommended the Schäferstube for its lamb dishes, but were unfortunately too late to secure a table for eight, despite it being off-season, so we settled for the Julen Restaurant upstairs. Both establishments share the same building (Romantik Hotel) as well as the same...More

Our group comprised four adults and one three year old and all of us left being very satisfied and very impressed. Swiss efficiency was apparent from the moment we walked in and continued throughout the evening. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the...More

For our final meal in Zermatt we chose a TA highly recommended restaurant. It did not live up to our expectations. We arrived at our appoingted time of 18:00 to be the only customers. There might have been about five tables occupied when we left....More

Lovely food in a lovely traditional setting. Switzerland is expensive but in this restaurant we felt that we had good value for money as the quality of food and service was exceptional.

Description
Time for specialeaties. Time for Tradition Julen. "Everyone is welcome in Restaurant Julen." That was as important for Meinrad Julen as it is today for the third generation of the family business. In the morning local workers stop by for their coffee break, at noon the traditional cuisine attracts businessmen, families and passers-by, and in the evening the cozy restaurant serves gourmet food based in traditional cuisine. New menus are created daily with love and passion. From the salad bar to beef tenderloin and lamb specialties to the hearty cheese fondue and dessert buffet on Thursdays, the a la carte menu has something for all tastes. Enjoy our carefully selected assortment of international wines. Make sure to reserve a table early!
