Best Indian food in my life

We had lamb biryani and gosht shari korma + naan bread. We loved both dishes, that were cooked according to our request on how spicy they should be. Quality of ingredients was really high and the owner (who cooked for us himself) made a very good impression. Cleanliness/service was fine too. This was the best Indian food experience in my life, would be happy to have another meal here when I'll be back to Interlaken.

Best Indian food I’ve ever had

By far the best Indian food I have ever had. I had the chicken tikka tak-a-tak and chicken tikka massala with naan bread and rice. The chicken was super tender/soft and it had lots of flavors. You could pick your own side dish and how spicy you wanted it to be. We had the food delivered to our apartment and the delivery guy was incredibly nice. Delivery included plates and cutlery, which was very convenient. We are definitely going to eat more times here!

Viva Vivers in the Village

Great Indian Food! Tucked away in a camping site on the other (and more tranquil) side of the tracks it comes as a nice treat to find a restaurant in a peaceful setting with impeccably courteous service. The owner who might have sprang from The 1001 Arabian Nights with his perfectly groomed beard,Turban and garb was a wonderful surprise. He’s out of place and on the first step to something bigger. Get it while you can !

Awesome food and service

We had our lunch at this hidden gem restaurant and we were surprised to be served with one of the best Indian food we tried in Europe. Great combination of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes prepared by professional chefs. Everyone from our family and friends enjoyed our delicious lunch. The staff was cooperative and we had lovely conversation with them. The location is also great next to the the lake and the camping site. Thanks, Atul

Spicy and delicious

We were here for early dinner on a rainy afternoon. The road outside the restaurant was lightly flooded but the restaurant was not affected. We parked beside the restaurant itself. We took a table inside the restaurant as it was a bit chilly to sit outside. The tables were arranged to allow for social distancing. Only the waitress serving us was wearing a mask. We ordered butter chicken, coconut curry chicken, lamb biryani, cheese naan and garlic naan. We also ordered a portion of rice as the butter chicken and coconut curry chicken did not come with rice. All of us picked medium spicy level which was just right for us. However the butter chicken was not as spicy as the other two dishes. The lamb biryani came in a big portion. The lamb was tender and tasty. I didn't enjoy the garlic naan as much as my husband who loves garlic. There were just too much garlic for me to handle. Overall it was a good experience.

Home away from home

Albeit pandemic restrictions, we ventured alongwith our 2 minor kids to the Interlaken region for a short stay (4 nights) at the RIVER Village, Interlaken. Nestled between the mountains and river it is as perfect as a location can be. The delicious food from the India village restaurant makes this stay unforgettable. I strongly recommend to visit and stay at this resort/ restaurant for all categories of people. There is ample parking space, the surroundings are lovely and quiet yet not remote or inaccessible. Mr. Rupinder and Mrs. Menka Sharma (the owners)' hospitality truly upholds the Indian ethos of 'Atithi Devo Bhava' (The Guest is God). The experience is worth every penny spent. [P.S. This restaurant is not limited to serving Indian foods only or exclusively designed for the Indian guests. It is place worth visit for guests all across the world]

Excellent food & service

My wife and I arrived at 4pm to the restaurant, starving, and not knowing that the restaurant only opens at 5pm. When we arrived, a staff member informed us ths restaurant will only open at 5pm and we' have to wait. Thankfully my wife requested the staff member to atleast give us tea first as it was raining and cold which meant going anywhere else would mean 30 minutes wasted. The staff spoke to the restaurant owner who was cooking the food and he right away said to come indoors to sit and have a cup of tea first. They even gave us a snack to go with the tea while we waited for the team to get the kitchen up and running. The food was excellent and the best we could ask for. The service was even better. We later found out that the owner's wife came in specially to help out with service for us as we came in early and they didnt want us to wait long. As we were leaving, the owner offered to drop us to the train station as he saw we were going to walk through the rain! Couldn't be happier with the food and service for our first meal in Interlaken. We highly recommend this restaurant to everyone

Delicious and Authentic Indian Cuisine

Coming from an Asian country, we are happy to say that this place serves authentic and delicious Indian cuisine. The dishes were prepared freshly upon order, and we could choose our spice levels too! Got to say that their butter chicken is even better than some that we have back home. The chef and his wife were really friendly and hospitable as well. Excellent meal with impeccable service! We highly recommend this place and would be sure to dine here again whenever we have the chance to return to Interlaken.

Great food, great service

Came into the restraunt (located conveniently to camp site) near closing. The hostess was very polite and served us well (refilled drinks, gave us tips on local area, and very accommodating). The food was amazing, very flavorful, and menu is filled with many options. Takai chicken, coconut chicken, and Naan were very well. My name is Gabriel Nagales I am an Asian American in the Philipino variety. I wear glasses too.

Delicious food with prompt service

The food was awesome in taste and more importantly it was made freshly for us. The most beautiful thing of this restaurant is that they only cook fresh food and serve as per your order. We ordered Samosas, Rajma Masala and Paneer Makhani, and all the dishes were equally delicious. Mr. Rupinder Singh himself is a great chef and owner of various hotels and restaurants in Switzerland. He is from the roots of Patiala, Punjab in India and has been living in Switzerland for the last 18 years. He was so kind enough that he dropped us to the railway station to catch the train without even asking and if he wouldn’t have dropped us, we would have missed it and the next train was after one hour. We recommend everyone to visit and dine here if you are in Interlaken or around.

Not worth the price

There were many positive reviews on this restaurant and that’s how we decided to come to it over others. Ultimately, we were very disappointed. €28 for a small portion of butter chicken. No rice, no naan included. Food was still tasty and we understand Interlaken is expensive for food, however this was extreme. For people trying to travel reasonably, this is not in the budget.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE ATTITUDE AND HOSPITALITY

Very Disappointed with the attitude of The owner Mr Khan. He is a very arrogant guy. We had a group of 40 guests and he treated them very badly. The reservation was for 8:30 pm and he started abusing the group and giving ultimatums last minute that he will charge extra for 8:30 pm, and instead change group time to 7:30 pm. Had this been the thing, they shouldnt have taken initial reservation of 8:30 pm...when group reached, he started telling them you guys should be thankful we are making you have food at 8:30. They were not serving properly and nor welcoming and warm, and instead talking in a very rude way with our guests. Last minute he started yelling at us few hours before the dinner when the reservations were done few days in advance. In travel trade, hospitality and warmness are the only things that matter and we felt neither the owner, nor the team had any interest and were only concerned about money, after taking full advance for the meal, their attitude changed completely.

First of all make your mind clear khan is not the owner of the restaurant' he is working there 'and what you told food we booked in advance wow and you forget to pay. You can book whatever from your side who cares you have to pay first after you have to wait for the confirmation then it says your food is booked learn a bit. Yes he says right you have to be thankful because you made the payment 7:00 and you expect to serve the food 8:30 what a nice have to learn something that if you want to book a dinner in a restaurant for the group you have to read the email properly then have to learn to give the reply Before Time. Just go and check the review written by your guest about the food. They was absolutely happy with the food only you had the problem just for the pay. This is not a charity you have to pay advance if you want the food don't try to put the finger on other except your mistakes.

Best Indian food in Switzerland...

This is one of the best food we ever had (including restaurants in India). We had ordered mix pakoras, Shahi paneer tikka masala, daal chawal, varities of naan and veg biryani. Everything was top notch and special mention to Shahi paneer tikka masala which was beyond any expectations, a must order for anyone who visits Interlaken. The hosts were very kind and so hospitable, they even offered to drop us to our hotel when we asked them to call a taxi. I would visit it again and again... Thank you so much for a lovely meal, we will always remember this food

The best Indian restaurant ever!!!

The best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at, all the food is so delicious. I absolutely would eat here again. Great service and extremely tender meat. They serve a variety of veg and non veg dishes and the the meat dishes are very tender(butter chicken and Lal mans is what we tried) We definitely recommend this fantastic restaurant.

Indian Restaurant with great sense of flavor

Its hard to find an Indian restaurant with truely Indian flavors. Chef had great sense of Indian Flavors, all the recipes were amazing. I am vegetarian, my personal favorite at Indian Village is Chana Masala.... One of the best Chana Masala I have ever ate. India Village has hotel as well, because of their food I actually extended my stay in swiss and at their hotel for one more day. Haven't found a better Indian Restaurant in Europe so far.
