It was my first time trying GourmIndia, and it’s been the best decision. Literally felt like I’m having authentic Indian food in one of the restaurants in India, and not Switzerland.
Even though the prices are slightly high, but it makes up for the quality as well as quantity. Portions are great enough to be shared between 2-3 persons. I ordered it online wherein I ordered the garlic naan, paneer tikka masala and achari aloo Gobi and I loved each one of it. A small portion of rice and 2 pcs of butter naan was served complimentary with my order.
Would certainly love to dine in at the GourmIndia restaurant next time.
Highly recommend to any one of you who’s in search of authentic Indian food. Every Sunday, they offer South Indian food on their menus!

Yesterday was the third time I had dinner at Gourmindia and the second for my boyfriend. Every time we go there, we leave with a smile on our face, a lot of delicious indian food in our bellies and leftovers in a bag to eat the day after. Also, the waiters are extremely helpful and gave us good advice when ordering food, even suggesting we order something less as portions are very big which is a level of honesty I've never seen in other restaurants. We'll definitely go there again!

The food was excellent and the portions were reasonable almost too big but who complains about too much food?
The restaurant itself is comfortable and we were served in a professional and pleasant way. Meaning the waiters were all very polite and would answer all our questions to the fullest.
All in all it was an ecxellent evening we spent there :)

We were there for the second time. After the first time we had stomach aches and this time we were served the starter plate with meat even though we had ordered vegetarian. Unfortunately we noticed it too late and had already eaten some of it. The reaction was mediocre.
We only got 3 main courses instead of 4. The food was OK.
For me the place wasted a second chance.

Absolutely not worth the money. The food is not exactly cheap and by the end I felt like I did not want to even pay. The starter platter which costs 26 francs was flavourless, soggy and cold. No sauces were provided and it was the most bland food which is definitely not expected when eating Indian food. The curry was mediocre at best. The person who I shared this meal with has grown up eating Indian and ordered thr chicken tika, he expected to see a hot sizzling plate with an aroma that can be smelt from across the room, however, the food came on a plate that was barely sizzling, the chicken looked like clumpy balls that had the appearance of barely being cooked. The texture was rubbery and had no flavour, he was left so disappointed that he wanted to ask for ketchup. When informing the waiter that the chicken was terrible and boiled he replied that it was boiled and then fried. Why was chicken tikka which is meant to be grilled, boiled?? Additionally, the waiter responded that his cooks are Indian so they should know how it is done. Clearly anyone that enjoys the food at this restaurant has never eaten a proper Indian before because it was absolutely not done correctly and I don't think any of the chefs would be happy to present that as Indian to any Indian people. Just rip off non Indian people and pretend that, that flavourless, aromaless, soggy food is authentic Indian because it is absolutely not. My partner who ate the chicken is feeling unwell from it and I am writing this from inside the restaurant wishing I didn't have to pay and waste money on a disappointing and quite frankly barely digestible meal.

AVOID IT! We've been coming here for over 12 years and the food was always excellent. No longer! Something has changed big time. The food was absolutely terrible. Everything from the starters (dried out samosas and rock hard pakoras and bland, runny mango chutney) to the so-called nans (which were actually roti instead of the fresh, airy nans they used to do) to the lifeless curries. The curry sauces had flavour and spice but had no structure (finely chopped garlic, ginger, onion etc) like they used to. It seemed like everything had come out of the blender (or packet). No garnish (for example chopped coriander) like they used to. Even the dishes were different: no plate warmers anymore. The service was not good. The waitress didn't even know what types of beer were available, and we were first told there were no pickles, but when we asked a different waiter we got some. May be the restaurant has been sold, or experienced Indian staff are back in India, no idea, why, but we will not even be giving it a second chance. Such a shame!

We have known Gourmindia for 4 years now, used to be arguably the best Indian restaurant in Luzern city. The new management has resulted in a 25% price hike without getting anything more, the quality of food presentation and freshness has also suffered accordingly. It will require some rethinking to get back to the previous amazing standards…

But it was good. Already the service is friendly, attentive and kind and all the dishes we had were really delicious. Meatballs, paneer, chicken wings, everything was great! Nothing to complain about, except the prices of Naan, absolutely prohibitive. Too bad, but it's a tiny false note considering the quality served.

Highly recommend this place. It has got good options for vegetarians. Service was fast and pretty good, Natalie our waitress was very helpful and prompt. The food tingled our Indian taste buds to the hilt. Chef has done a fabulous job.

An restaurant offering very authentic Indian food. Very large spread / variety of meals. Service is excellent. Also, the ambience of the restaurant is posh and smart in every respect. A must visit for every visitor to Lucerne desiring to eat indian food. It may not be the cheapest Indian restaurant, however considering the offering, the ambience, the service offered it is certainly worth the price.

We were touring ski resorts in January and we added 2 places in Switzerland Lugano and lucern we had Indian food at Indian restaurants in both. The Indian restaurant in lucern was excellent in terms of food distance from city center and ambiance was good . The food was s authentic and like home cooking in fact it reminded me of my childhood we had amazing cook's from India.
We ordered chat and papadum and chicken in gravy I forgot the name all was amazing taste very much like home cooking we also had mix gril.
I was a bit full and could not finish my dish I still regret that this how much the food was good.
Price was reasonable fir the quality of food ..I was happy to know the source of their poultry It is locally sourced ..only in lucern this was disclosed on the menu.i appreciate this facts and food quality and source..as I prefer locL produce whtn I am traveling. To avoid any food consumption complications . And fir quality. And freshness.

Visited with my wife and eight year old son. We were late and arrived close to the restaurants afternoon closing time but the staff was kind enough to accommodate us. There is something for everyone on the menu. The Palak Paneer and Pista Lassi are highly recommended.

Gourmindia was initially recommended to me by an Indian friend. She told me how this restaurant reminded her of home and how it was the best Indian place in Luzern.
She was right, I had the pleasure to try it (even after being at other Indian restaurants) and this one really stands out. I cannot stop going back!
It really offers not only great food but a good quality price ratio.
The staff is alway very kind, friendly and open to accomodate customers requests to make them happy (something not to common in Luzern).
Very much appreciated is also the 10% takeaway discount, only downside is that this way me and my partner order it too often!!!!
Very recommend place.
