I went to Shibata today for lunch for the first time with my mother. We were absolutely delighted by their warm welcome and delicious menu. It was such a pleasure to be there. I am looking forward to introducing my friends to this lovely restaurant.

Shibata is small authentic Japanese food in Geneva (close to Parc Trembley). The restaurant serves specialties from Hokkaido with some innovations introduced by owner. The waitress does a good explaining you the food and helping you to make you choice. The price ... a bit expensive but reasonable for Geneva standard and for what you get as food and service.

almost 100 chf pp with a home made tea that tasted cheap. atmosphere and location reminds you of a pub not an expensive Japanese restaurant. Entrée was worth his money but not the rest. It is though a modern cuisine with Japanese influence and European influence, not a good mixture in the Japanese kitchen.

Enjoyed the black cod. This place is suited for gourmet Japanese food lovers. Portion small but well prepared.

The service is attentive and warm which is very appreciated. The location is a margin of UN communities in Geneva but a bit difficult to access without cars. I was recommended by my European business friend and I now understand why they attract non-Japanese customers. The taste is very straight-forward. Salty food is salty and the sweat is sweat. Very... Have always been amazed by this place. The food is imaginative and refreshing. The service is impeccable. They clearly have a passion for their food and care about what they do. Have loved every meal I've had here.

Amazing food and excellent service, this is quite possibly one of the best restaurants in Geneva. While you won't find sushi on the menu everything that you will find is delicious, fresh, and high quality. The black cod marinated in saké is pure perfection as is their cheesecake. Though a little out of the way and sadly not open on... More

i ahve been lately there for business lunch and in the evening. During lunchthe place is a bit crowed but offers a nice variety of dishes and a plate de jour whihc is reasonable priced. In the evening is is much quieter and you can really enjoy the talk and the food. Thedishes are excellent and the quality of the... More

Top class japanese food and great choice of wines. One of the only places in Geneva to offer a selection of sake. Try the steamed eggplants, they're amazing. Only regret: the place is closed on weekends. Oh, and no sushi, but there's other great places in geneva for that!

In fact sushi forms but a very small part, albeit much savoured as a delicacy, of the Japanese diet! This small restaurant is a family business, ran by chef Hiroshi Shibata from Hokkaido in North Japan and his wife Marie-Pierre who takes care of the service. There are set menus at lunch that are good value, and à la carte... More
