The restaurant itself is not in some posh area, but when you enter you can immediately tell that it’s a special place. Simple, beautiful decoration, lively atmosphere full of local people and families, and above all outstanding food. Real taste of Italy in Geneva. Highly recommended!

This cozy restaurant is managed by Antonio and his wife, offering the best personalized service, recommendations and the most delicious italian dishes. The Wine List is extensive and you can always get the best advice from Antonio. The Lasagna is my spouse’ favorite. I love any of the wood oven pizza and even the plain focaccia to accompany the appetizer. All ingredients are italian of the highest quality so you can count on an excellent lunch or dinner with friends or clients. The place is conveniently located nearby but people from all neighborhoods come here, so reservations are recommended. The lunch menu is awesome.

The treasure maintains its cozy atmosphere and excellent service and warmth. The chef Antonio Salcuni from Puglia and his nice and beautiful wife Sandra make the clientele always feel welcome and appreciated. The food is prepared with the highest quality italian ingredients and the wine menu has excellent options. The ambiance is great. The tables are cloth-set and the silverware and service plates elegant and well-kept. The restaurant is usually crowded so recommendations are recommended as are any suggestions from Antonio in terms of wines or specials of the day. Ideal for business lunch or dinner, special events or for an extraordinary wood oven cooked pizza. You can never go wrong with any dish in the menu, but the lasagna is from another world and the Carpaccio is the thinest and most delicious I have tried, you can also order plain fresh focaccia for your meal. The specials of the day keep renovating so make sure to ask for recommendations as Antonio will always surprise you with a new dish.

To start off, nowhere on this restaurants page or website does it say reservation required, yet when we arrived, we were turned away for not having one. There is a table literally in the doorway into the restaurant, it’s a very cramped space, and the people working were very rude. Very disappointing, would not recommend.

If you are looking for good food, reasonable prices, class 'family Italian restaurant vibe' with white table cloths etc etc. look no further. I use this as my 'go to' place to get dinner when arriving or leaving late from Geneva airport. I love the place (hence the 5), but it's really not special in the sense that this is the place that everyone has as their favourite Italian in their home town (if they're lucky). Usually full, so call ahead. Always full of local people having a good time. Not a glamorous location, but nice inside.

We were looking for something in Geneva a bit off the beaten path. We took the tram here on a rainy night and were delighted. My husband said the octopus was as good as he had in Naples growing up and the pizza was delicious. Highly recommend!

nice little italian. Both pizzas and pasta are good, lunch tends to be crowded so probably a good idea to reserve

We had a special event to celebrate - our 50th wedding anniversary! - and decided on one of our favorite restaurants. They handled a party of 14 with elegance, professionalism and great care, with wonderful food and good wines. Thank you, friends, for a very special evening.

Arrived for a late lunch and told that we could have “pizza, lasagne ou salade”....which was ok given the time. This is neighborhood style dining - tables crammed in tight and old style decor. All the food was good - lasagne was rich and unctuous with cheese. Pizzas very good. Nice Barolo to wash it down. CHF190 for 4 (wine was 85 of that)...

Il Forno a Legna is the typical place to go to in the neighbourhood. It is not the "hot place in town" but it is the place where people living in the area are thrilled to go to. The neighbourhood best kept secret. It has that flavour of ( and smell of) unpretentious family-run pizzeria that is genuinely good and comforting. I grew up surrounded by places like this one. The food is excellent, pastas and pizzas alike. The desserts are great. Try the Bufalina pizza ... The owner will always greet you with a smile and a joke. The decor is once again that of the typical pizzeria down in the street back home, a bit retro but rightly so. You can book and take pizzas away. If you eat there, the service is good although tables are very close one to the other. Supposedly it has a garden, despite having been there many times, I have never seen it.

We went this past week to this authentic italian restaurant on a business lunch. The menu offer was comprehensive with Pugliese owner Antonio and wife. I had the special focaccia with rugula, sliced octopus and cherry tomatoes, accompannied by a soecial olive oil. The service was kind and prompt. It is recommended to make reservations. We were reserved a very nice window table where we were able to eat and discuss our projects.

We had a lousy experience in this restaurant. After being seated near the restaurant's entrance, we waited about 10 minutes to get the menu and another 15 just to order. Once the food arrived, we had a nice time, until my friend started coughing and choking. we asked for some more water and the check. Meanwhile, the table next to us ordered and got another drink and we are ignored as my friend continues coughing. We had to wait a whole 10 minutes just for some water. disgraceful.

We had lunch today with a business colleague visiting from Canada. We made a reservation and our table was ready. The staff and owners are very welcoming and friendly. We had not been in Forno de Legna for over a year and today our visit made our day! We were very pleased with the friendly courteous service that has made this restaurant so popular among our friends and colleagues in the international organizations. The lunch time is busy, as the food is awesome and the menu of the day really worth it! We are looking forward to the orecchiette cime di rapa, a typical pasta from Puglia, Italy, where Antonio Salcuni the chef/owner is a native from. Today we tried carpaccio de manzo (beef) (amazing!!!) and penne carbonara (out of this world!!). The place was packed but the service was fast and friendly. We look forward to becoming regulars again!!! Always excellent wine options and suggestions!

This place has good food, very good for what are Geneva standards, so I would give a four on the benchmark scale. It's a bit on the pricey side, but we have always eaten good pasta dishes and pizza here. Some staff member however would benefit from training on good manners as you feel like not much welcome in the restaurant since the moment you enter. And that leaves you with a kind of bad taste in your mouth once you walk out, even after having ha a satisfying meal.

The location is convenient even if you are taking public transport (Tram 14 & 18). The restaurant is situated in between two tram stations (Servette and Poterie). The restaurant is crowded even on weekdays. I recommend that you make a reservation before you decide to come down for a meal. The service staff is very friendly and kept an informal and friendly atmosphere. The food is great, their pasta is wonderful and their pizza is very good. They have a wood fire oven for their pizza. I saw a lot of people buying pizza for take away.
