We didn't end up staying as it looked very 'touristy'and the prices were about average for 'traditional' dishes that can be eaten elsewhere with nicer atmosphere.

This place probably has not changed for 30yrs. Its very dated. On our visit there were many single diners. Food wasn't up to much. The dish on the day was 3 cheese ravioli which was bland. The rosti was very geasy and not pleasant at all. We didn't order a starter but a plate of leaves arrived anyway. I suspect... More

a place to take visiting friends or if you are new to Geneva and want to try the typical dishes of the Swiss (lakes and mountains) cuisine. Cheese Fondues, Raclette are a must-try.

Maybe, but he is also a waiter at this restaurant! After a long day of outdoor activities, we got back to town fairly late, and decided to go out for Fondue. We walked down the street from my friends' apartment to the Cave Valaisanne, situated across from the Cirque tram stop on #15 line. A fairly large building with large... More

The atmosphere of this restaurant is really nice and recall the image of a swiss chalet. The place is usually hot because of the heating of many fondues so take out your sweaters ;-) The restaurant offers many specialties and the price is in the average for Geneva. I really love the fondue as well as the raclette. I always... More

We were intent on sampling all things cheesy for the Swiss winter, and weren't disappointed. The fondue mix was tasty, the raclette sharp in a good way, served with really good quality new potatoes, the malakoff also nice and crisp on the outside. The service was friendly and efficient. Nothing to complain about at all.

22 people and not a single commercial gesture. We thought that as an any other restaurant we could end a good fondue (with wine, dry meat...) with a little shot on the house. But NOTHING

My friend and I went there last Sunday evening. We ordered a traditional fondue. It was really good. The place looks like an old chalet. Staff members are polite and discrete. A place to go back

Bad service. Waitors extremely rude and unprofessional. Though they are efficient, they did not provide good experience for our group. Fondue is 37sfr per person, it s not a gift. If I could choose, I would have gone somewhere else.

Thank PSE8

The cellar restaurant Valaisanne & Chalet Switzerland, Dumoulin family owned since 1960, is located in the heart of the city of Geneva, surrounded by the Victoria Hall, the Grand Theatre, the Music Conservatory, the Bastions Park and its monument Reformation. This has the distinction of offering typical and 4 different settings: Swiss Chalet, Brasserie, Swiss Village and Carnotzet. Added to this is during the summer, the terrace shaded by plane trees. So every customer does not feel squashed in the middle of the large crowd. The high flow ensures the best quality and freshness of the dishes served. Swiss wines are honored and come, mostly French-speaking cantons. La Cave Valais is known for its many types of fondue and raclette especially raw milk. What is less known is that the card is one of the most varied and provided our beloved Geneva basin. Although logically say typical specialties take center stage, there remains many specialties and bar meals made the reputation of the institution (sauerkraut zürcher geschnetzeltes home with rosti, etc ...) . Not to mention that the two dishes of the day are served at lunchtime are renewed every day and served with a green salad or homemade soup (your choice). Through our various salads into our pasta dishes, menus or stopping on our perch fillets, the supply is diversity in appointments and everything is cooked by a skilled team.
