We have not been there for years (I remember it as a smoky old boozer) and wanted to check it out again. Already when entering the place you can see quite a few regulars who must have been propping up the bar for years, the rest of the crowd was rather youngish. The atmosphere was very friendly and warm, a... More

We wanted a light lunch and chose this cafe. The waiter walked within inches of our table for ten minutes before acknowledging us as we smiled and looked at him. When he came we asked for beer, water and menus. Eventually the drinks came but no menus. When the owner/manager came by the waiter told him we wanted menus which... More

This is a good place to sit outside and watch the world go by near the main square and the famous clock tower. Sit and eat sausages with bread and mustard and a beer and watch the world go by. Multilingual staff are friendly and efficient.

Perfect for afterwork. Great and fast service, good atmosphere. Food is simple, nothing special and it shows also in the prices. Easy to just go and have quick snack or a beer.

We stopped in to have lunch in the midst of the Onion Market (great fun, by the way!) in November. Everyone was of course already tipsy and covered in confetti, and groups of locals were sitting together and laughing while eating and drinking. Not at all a fancy establishment, but our food was surprisingly good (I had yet another onion... More

This is clearly more of a drinking hole than a restaurant. This is the blue-collar, low-key neighbour to the much nicer Ringgenberg, but it isn't bad by any measure. Classic "brasserie" dishes of "Croûte au fromage", Spaghetti bolognaise, soup, or local Wurst are on offer. The beer menu appears longer and more diverse than its food equivalent, but it's all... We stopped in for a sandwich for lunch. It was fresh and very good. The staff was pleasant and the atmosphere was French and like a neighborhood inn.
