We have been visiting Lucca for many years without discovering Antica Locanda di Sesto. It's so good we dined there twice. Apparently the entire family is involved in this well-run restaurant along with their trusted neighbors on local farms who supply most of the ingredients....More

Absolutely Brilliant, selective locally sourced produce that is subtly unique. Love the way they prepared the pasta within the wheel of the Padano/Pecorino blended cheese

Are reservations required? My husband and I will be visiting Lucca, staying just outside the gates, August/Sept 2017. There are only the two of us and we will be there for 3 days. Thank you for any recommendations.

Give the restaurant a call before you go. Reservation is not mandatory but recommended. You won't risk to not find a table because restaurant is full, in August /September it is high season for Italian restaurants so I'd... More

Antica Locanda Di Sesto is a restaurant located on the right side of the Serchio River,in the outskirts of Lucca. The Building dates back to the 1368, as the marble stone in front of the restaurant says, a period when the local merchants started to build their own country estates, used to relax and chill out in the summer but also to gain business profits. From the XIV Century the village of Sesto was property of the "De Nobili" Family and they had, according to various rumors, 101 farmers working only for them in the village. It is thanks to this powerful family that the "Locanda" was built, and even now you can see the remains of the old building inside the restaurant. *We now offer a free shuttle service from Lucca town centre*
