I am lucky to be staying 2 minutes away from this caffe. Large pastries for 1 euro and they are as fresh as can be. Lots of choices, lots of filling types - my favourite is the croissant-type pastry filled with a nutella-but-better type filling. The custard is also good. Many other pastry shops will serve old dried out pastries,... More

Stumbled into this nice place after our train from Roma. Nice cafe. Cappuccinos were great! Paninis were awesome. Comfortable, clean and happy. Will try to get there again!

This is a wonderful little caffe, very near to Santa Croce. The owners are engaging and kind, the food and drink are very well priced, and they stand by the quality of what they serve. Try a cappuccino or caffe late- you will not be disappointed.

Stopped in here for a coffee. Family run place along one of the many little streets . Cheap and cheerful. Not a lot of atmosphere.

Our daughter is studying in Florence this fall, and stops in everyday on her way to class. It is her home away from home….she said they are always so kind to her and know exactly her order as soon as she walks in.Sometimes she does her homework there in the afternoon…they never rush her out!!….

Stopped here and had a pasta salad, tuna salad and ham and cheese panini, all of which were of great quality. The owners were very friendly and made us feel welcomed as soon as we walked in. Would recommend as a place for a quick, easy lunch!

Two course meal, a glass of wine, coffee and friendly service, what else do you want after 3 hours of language classes at a very reasonable price. Add to that the friendly service, you have won me over!

We stopped here for lunch our first day in Florence on our way to see Basilica di Santa Croce. The sandwiches were delicious and very reasonably priced. The owner was very welcoming and talked to us about our trip, Florence and where we were from. I will recommend Caffe Michelangiolo to others visiting Florence, and if I am ever in... More

We stopped in to this restaurant which is a little off the beaten track but very close to the Duomo. There was a set price for a food and drink combo with several food and drink options. The owner was very accommodating by making a different meal to fit into the set price. He also suggested the Ribollita, which is... More

My wife and I just had a lunch there. We took the lunch menu with primi and secondi piatti. Together with the drinks it cost 27 euros for two people. It was a great experience. The place was full and busy. The service was simple and attentive. The pasta was excellent, and the pesto and puttanesca sauces very tasty. As... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
