Nice and typical trattoria but not very nice service and food not up to the price. Friends told us it depends on the day and who you get to serve you. We were dissapointed.

When one has a certification as a Historical Florentine Business they should be proud of this and continue to serve top meals. Unfortunately at Coco Lezzone this is not the case pasta first course meals are all pre-cooked this means that microwave it and serve like you are at an auto grill on the high way! Terrible service and very... More

Coco Lezzone is the best restaurant we visited in Florence, if not in all of Tuscany. Absolutely fantastic and the best Bistecca Fiorentina you'll find in the city. It's old-school Italian and I recommend it to anyone that wants to experience the real deal.

I'm not sure about the mediocre reviews but we ate here tonite and thought it was great. We wanted veal and they had veal scallopini which we really liked! Most of the folks were locals and we got the set menu which included soup- very good, house wine - a respectable Chianti, bread, water, a very fresh salad, veal, and... More

I visited this restaurant with a colleague this evening after a word of mouth recommendation. The whole experience was essentially underwhelming. The atmosphere was ok, the service was ok, the food was ok and not particularly large portions, and the price was pretty high. I'm hovering between two and three stars. Clearly not as impressed as some. I wonder what... More

To eat proper Fiorentine cucina - this is the place to go. Go off-season and the service is friendly, the atmosphere superb and the food is just wonderful.

Sadly our experience last night matched that of many other reviewers. Good food but prices that are too high for what is offered. The waiter was also pushy in trying to get us to order aperitivi and then primi and then secondi and then dolci. The excessive (based on typical prices at other equivalent Florence restaurants) prices mean that I... More

If you decide to see Firenze Italia, you may want to check out Coco Lezzone. We ate there a couple of times a few years apart. As a couple, we sat at a big long table with people we didn't know, which was interesting. There were six extremely talkative sales clerks from a famous big New York City department store... More

Physically a typical trattoria, but the waiter was a know it all, the food was pedestrian at best, and the impression was "eat and leave"

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
