The shop itself is tiny and line is fairly long because there is only one person working there at a time, but the wait is so worth it! The hazelnut chocolate gelato was my favorite, and the vegan gelato was also amazing. It is right in front of the Duomo so don't miss it if you are hitting the main... More

I love Edoardo, except for having to wait in line for ages every time I go there! It's notoriously excellent, so expect a wait, especially during and after dinner times. Their cones are homemade and so delicious, and were probably my favorite part of going there, skip the cup at Edoardo :) Some of their flavors are admittedly strange, but... More

No joke. Was in Italy for 2 weeks. We did the Rome, Florence/Tuscany, Venice thing. We did gelato twice a day every day! This was our absolute favorite. The first time we went was on Christmas Day in the evening and they ran out of cones so we got a cup of chocolate and pistachio. Both delicious. I was sad... More

We ate them 3 times in 4 times we visited Florence. Remember to try their specialities, especially the fresh eggs flavour. The rest are just as normal you can find them anywhere in Italy. About 1.5 times more expensive than usual ice-creams in Italy but definitely worth trying.

Sunday and during Christmas, what a worst time to find food and travel. We were leaving Florence too. Thank goodness this gem was still open that day; we found most other gelato shops closed, and it was worth walking around to this shop. I had almond and pistachio and I wish I ate this both days on our visit to... More

Walking around the city center, I walked by many gelaterias, but non really caught my attention in this cold, until I walked by this. I saw some people standing in line and decided to give it a try. I ordered salty almond and dark chocolate in their home made biscuit cups, and wow, it was so good! If I'm in... More

My boyfriend and I were wandering around Florence at night after having diner and we found this place without expecting it... and what a pleasant surprise!! Is was quite busy inside and we noticed most of the people were locals, which is always a good sign. We stood there for 5 mins trying to decide which flavour we wanted to... More

I traveled a lot through Italy and still have to find an ice cream better than Edoardo's: genuine ingredients and lip-smacking cones. flavours such as salted almond, chianti wine, coffe and meringue, cinnamon, are unique, you won't find them anywhere else.

Everything is home-made: ice cream, sorbetto waffles and cornetto. Flavors are rather atypical but we were certainly not disappointed with our various picks. Favs are pistacchio, cinnamon and chocolate :-) Only problem is the very long wait... this is a well known spot (and in our opinion the best in Firenze) so expect long queues and slow service... At 2.50€... More

It is not the best ice cream in Florence but the cones are amazing and sometimes they have really good flavors even if they dont have a lot of options.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
