Just like the other guy said, Venrured over to find it with great expectations after a very nice day and excellent dinner and low and behold, the bar was no longer there... The walk back to our room was very depressing. Trip advisor, please update!

Sadly, after reading all the great reviews of the Bitter Bar, we decided to venture out and find this place for some fun cocktails. We found the hotel and bar but when we asked where the bitter bar was located the bar tender said "this is it...or it used to be. The owners sold it." Although we were there at... More

My wife and I wanted a pre-dinner drink in Florence on Dec. 30 so decided to try Bitter Bar after reading good reviews on Trip Advisor. Good decision! The place was empty when we were there and offered a nice, quiet respite from the crazy tourist throngs of Florence. The bar is situated in the lobby of the Borghese Palace... More

Here are some of the things we loved: Reasonably priced cocktails $7, no service charge; Great friendly service, bartender Gerardo was a pleasure to talk to! Free little plate of snacks- olives, chips, sauce. Some of the fusion cocktails we had: Pina colada with tobasco Mojito with mint bitter and ginger Martini with soya sauce, feta cheese and olive Go... More

The cocktails at Bitter Bar are phenomenal and incredibly inventive. The combination of ingredients are surprising and tasty. It's a small bar within a hotel, with a classy but not stuffy atmosphere. We enjoyed our visit so much, we went back a second time. If you are in Florence and like a good drink, you must visit this bar.

I visited the Bitter Bar on the 10th November 2013. The location is a little bit tricky, down a back alley way, and the signage doesn't pop out at you. But once I found it, it was well worth it. The interior has a very classy feel to it, well decked out with beautiful furniture and decor. The cocktails are... More

After reading about the Bitter Bar on trip advisor, I felt it was best to check out this highly reviewed hot spot. The reviews did not lie! From the interior decor to the well-crafted cocktails, this bar was absolutely fantastic. It was so great, I went two nights in a row. I am not going to lie, it was a... More

We wanted a relaxing Saturday evening out and this fitted the bill perfectly. Great venue, fab cocktails and very hospitable owners with a passion for their craft. Nice sushi aperitivo. Unfortunately, it was our last night in Florence so some hard choices had to be made as all the cocktails were equally appealing! Definitely a place to visit for a... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
