Great place to eat with our two sons on our first day in Florence. Right next to our hotel (Hotel Pendini). Good service, good pizza, excellent pasta including a pasta bolognese not on the menu but recommended by the waiter.

Sunday afternoon walk on Florence looking for a place to sit for coffee. We stopped at the Piazza de la Republica... other places were very expensive. We got in this place for a caffe and decided to go for a glass of wine. Location is excellent, service is impeccable, price was reasonable... and wine was excellent.they also served olives, peanuts... More

Better to go hungry than eat there. As it was getting a bit late for lunch and we had just arrived in town, I broke my own rule of never eating in a glass walled restaurant in a square and let myself be talked in to going in by the tout outside, much to my wife's surprise. My first taste... More

We got sucked into a tourist trap here, I'd advise you avoid at all cost. Firstly, the crew member outside said that they make all the food fresh on order and so some ingredients can be removed from any meal if you suffer from allergies. Inside, the waitress said that everything is pre-made and so they would not be able... More

Was here with my colleagues for a lunch. We are in the city for some teambuilding. The restaurant is ok. Food is good but the service is difficult and just only one guy speaks a decent English also the process of ordering is strange.

There are two kind of restaurants / food joints in tourist places . The ones who don't accept reservations and don't promote themselves and location in bad but still have waiting for table and ones in the best location and employ people inciting inviting tourists to please walk in and dine and fall in the trap , well despite being... We had a lunch here for four people. Lack of attention to detail and service lets this establishment down. The menu and food is fairly standard fair and while acceptable is not anything special and not particularly tasty. Service wise, our waiter forgot one of our mains and a glass of wine came out in a wet glass(not considered an... More

This restaurant doesn't close afternoon as most of restaurants do here in Italy. Food is very tasty, especially menistrone soup and Spaghetti pomodoro. Price is reasonable and location is very good.

Good food, excellent service. Perhaps a little over-priced, but not unexpected for what is clearly a tourist-oriented venue. Or perhaps it was a rainy night and I was glad to be under shelter.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
