We were in the elevator in the Rinascente building and randomly asked a local where was a nice sandwich shop. When we got to the ground floor, he said "follow me" and then proceeded to take us to Via Dei Cerchi and a very unassuming Tuscan delicatessen - blink and you'd miss it. You point to your bread and then... More

We found this place on our trip last year and it was as memorable then as it was on this trip. I do not know what they put in their mushroom spread or how they make it but it absolutely makes the sandwich divine! Wish I had access to this every day cause I would be here for lunch always.

So let me tell you. If you like a place that sticks to traditional Tuscan delicatessen in Florence then this is the place! It was recommended to me by a tour guy "Cherry" as they know him. Honestly I came in starving so my first petition was a Panino with at leas three types of meat! Jonathan, the guy in... More

A nearby shop that I often visit recommended this place for traditional Italian sandwiches. This is a tiny spot with barely any seating, mostly a take away or a causal stand and eat sandwich joint. The staff is pleasant and will try and suggest something suitable as per your liking. I had a very traditional beef sandwich - and it... More

We found this place by accident on our first day in Florence glad we did - we came back twice to grab sandwiches to go for lunch, which we ate in nearby Piazza Della Signorina. The sandwiches are large, fresh and made in front of you. You can pretty much get whatever you want, but both times we just asked... More

With so many panini places in the touristy part of town, it's hard to know you're walking into a really good quality place with fair prices. This place was recommended to us by our tour guide, and when we had lunch here it did not disappoint. Basic menu, order quickly and you will receive a gloriously delicious sandwich quite quickly.... This great little hole in the wall is where the locals eat for 3 Euros! You can have the local schiacciata - stuffed with great meats truffle butter cheeses lettuce etc. Just of the Piazza Vecchio well worth the visit.

We were recommended to this wonderful sandwich shop/delicatessen by the nice folks at the Gelateria Perche' No. We were talking about taking the train to Venice the next day - and they mentioned we should skip the tourist traps and go to Il Maledetti Toscani as a great place for reasonable panini to take and eat on the train. He... More

One of the best places to taste the real ''panini'' .It is located in the heart of Florence and you can order any kind of sandwich. The people who work there are very kind and helpful.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
