Been here a number of times on different trips to Florence. When they are open ( always go in July, sometimes the restaurant is open, sometimes closed for vacation) I enjoy eating there. It is a family operation and the service and food worth the visit. It was closed in July 2016.

2 steps away from museo Galileo, the trattoria Roberto is an excellent place of the beaten track. Food is excellent and varied. Best proof? Went there twice in a row. Tried pastas, soup, meat and of course the traditional tiramisu. All were very good. Service was very friendly.

We first came here three years ago when it was good, but perhaps not great. This time we had a really fabulous evening. The eponymous Roberto opened this trattoria in 1976 and is still working hard in the kitchen !! This is truly a family show with one of Roberto's three sons running front of house on the evening we... More

We first ate here in 2009 when we were wandering behind the Uffizi looking for lunch and loved it so much we have eaten here ever since when we are in Florence. This is the essence of great home Italian cooking. The flair is on the tasty food not in the ordinary neighborhood decor. But it's thrilling to walk through... More

We were leaving the Galileo Museum and it began to rain....so it was very convenient. The fresh porcini mushrooms in the window closed the deal. The interior reminded us of a restaurant in the country. Within about 15 minutes of being seated the restaurant filled with locals all known to the staff, which to us is always a good sign.... More

We loved this little restaurant. Very tasty food, welcoming atmosphere, good house wine and very reasonable prices. Try stuffed octopus - melts in your mouth!

This is a lovely little family run trattoria by Roberto and his son Alessandro. We ate here everyday during our week in Florence except Wednesday when they were shut. We tried the spaghetti carbonara, the mushroom risotto, the gnocchi, Italian sausages, Florentine steak, the wild boar in sauce, bruschetta, the melon and ham, ravioli, almost all their sides, cantuccini and... Ordinary outward appearance and inside initially unprepossessing but this family run establishment was great. Gradually filled up with happy people all eating great food. The one man front of house team was super efficient and was occasionally supported by his father with whistles and liqueurs. Also visit museo Galileo.

A wonderful little family run restaurant, unexpected in the middle of Florence. This restaurant is totally unpretentious with a menu typed on both sides of one piece of paper in a plastic wallet, all food that we had was lovely and was personally prepared in the kitchen that could be seen through the hatch. The owner was constantly on hand... More

Excellent food with amazing staff. Francesco (Roberto) in the kitchen, Alessandro in the front of the house with Mama working when it's busy. We were made to feel so at home that we kept coming back during the two weeks we were in Florence. Always ask about specials and you might get some wonderful surprises. Make a connection with the...
