We visited coquinarius twice during our short stay in Florence. The food here was great- authentic, delicious and warming Tuscan food. The staff were also great- the waiter really went above and beyond in helping us with with wines/ wineries to visit during our country visit. Cannot recommend this place enough- you will not be disappointed.

We came based on another friend's recommendation from their honeymoon. It was a delicious meal, they accommodated 6 of us on no notice (we went next door to Goose Bar while we waited). Nicola was the manager when we visited and he was so warm and gave us recommendations on what to do in Venice and brought out homemade lemoncello.... More

After visiting the Duomo we decided to grab a coffee and a bite to eat. The coffee came quite quickly but the Bruschette's were painfuly slow in arriving and we were the only ones in the cafe. If they were of good quality then this may have been forgiven, but unfortunatley they were also poor.

Went on a night in Florence for dinner and had to leave before I was even served. My partner and I were seated, given the menus but nobody come back for the next 15 minutes. If the restaurant was busy I wouldn't mention it but it wasn't. Next to us 4 other table were also waiting to order and kind... More

First, the staff were really polite and nice and helpful with our questions Everything was cooked to perfection and appetizers were spot on! My favorite, anchovies dish, was the best ever. The beef cheeks were decadent! The pasta dishes were excellent! If you are in Florence, it is a must try. So far the best italian meal i ever had.

Many olaces give a suggestion they're equally good at wine as food but few pull it off. Coquinarius sort of splits into two adjacent areas with the lower/front area a more casual wine bar with food and the upper/back area a restaurant with great wine. Prices are hood for the high quality wine & food. If I had to pick... More

We found this restaurant almost by chance as it was just down the road from our hotel. We were able to get in the first night without booking as we went early but booked the second night. We'd not have got in otherwise. The food is wonderful - everything we tried tasted amazing and was clearly freshly made with good... More

Unassuming entrance leads into a lovely restaurant busy with locals and tourists, the old and the young . Fabulous staff especially the young guy( didn't catch his name) who was so enthusiastic about explaining the menu and wine and recommended us a fabulous ( not expensive about 20 euro)bottle of Tuscan wine from a small producer. We ended up spending... More

I asked a local where he would go if he had only one night in Florence, and that's how we ended up here. Had a great meal: amazing beef cheeks, for people who like roast beef (not my thing) apparently that was very good, too. And the pici may have been the winner. A beautiful wine list, too!

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
