It's always nice to hear the customers chattering in Italian rather than English or Chinese when you go into a Florentine restaurant. This was a great old trattoria that serves local cuisine. I had the vegetable and bread soup. Superb. Service was excellent.

We were around the corner at Casa del Vino, buying a little wine, and it was nearing lunch time so we asked him if there was a good pizza place nearby. He said he was from Naples, so there were only a couple of pizza places in Florence that made pizza that he liked and none of them were near.... More

One of the most authentic in Florence- filled with Florentians at lunch. The meals are freshly prepared. Reasonably priced. Very good. Lunch only restaurant. Well worth the stop.

This restaurant is on the Piazza San Lorenzo behind the mercato. It is a local restaurant and was packed during our visit. The wait was well worth it. It's small, and open for lunch only. We had ravioli and it was outstanding. I knew it would be good, as there were no tourists in the restaurant, just local folks. It's... More

Amazing and not to be missed. It's open for just a short period, get there as soon as you can. We weren't very hungry so just had some pasta. It was soooo amazing that we had to split a meat dish. What we wanted was out, so we ended up just ordering chicken, and it was finger-licking great. The waitstaff... More

Took the plunge and had the tripe. Very good, solid old slow food type of dish. Felt I needed to try this is old school for . The type that Bourdain talks about. Get there early or have reservations. They are only open for lunch. In Florence try to stay away from tourist joints and do the Italian thing.

This is a simple place, but the food... is't so good. Everything we ordered was wonderful and we had a great time. The wait was worth the effort.

We had read about this place, and it did not disappoint. Full of locals, always a good sign, friendly staff, with enough English if your Italian is not up to scratch. The Ravioli a la ragu was to die for. So good we went twice.
