Good local food in the central market, perfect place for a quick and cheap lunch. Usually there is a long queue but the staff is very friendly and quick, so you don't have to wait long. It might be difficult to get a table, but it is worth a try and normally people just eat and leave, so it doesn't... More

No visit to Florence is complete without a visit to Mercato Centrale and no visit to the Mercato Centrale is complete without a visit to Antica Tripperia 'Nerbone'. The markets themselves are a wonderful place to stroll and look at or buy fresh local produce and then when hunger strikes you head to Nerbone and buy a Panini or Pasta,... More

We visited Mercato Centrale and did lunch at da Nerbone. Had to jockey for a table b/c it is so popular but the food was great and the tight seating makes it even more fun. You need to experience the food market, one of the oldest in Italy.

The food was OK - the service was appalling. All they need to do is taking money and put food on the plates considering it's just a small food joint, yet they can manage to make it look like they are significantly superior than the clients. At my visit there were tourists waiting in the queue, and the friends of... More

Da Nerbone, in mercato centrale, in Florence, Tuscany, is one of the best places I tried in my life. Pasta, beef, wine, souces, sandwich, everything delicious! You make line, ask for poultry and panino al lampredotto! oohh my God!

I had read some stellar reviews for the sandwiches at Nerbone in Mercato Centrale, so my husband and I stopped in during our first day wandering around Florence. Although I loved the market, I wish that w had gone upstairs to the second floor instead of stopping here. Although the sandwich was good, the bread was very dense (it almost... More

Stumbled upon this place while strolling through the market... I had the Pork sandwich and it was one of the finest things that I've ever tasted... the cut of meat, the gravy, the bread, everything was simply superb... it's been around 8 hours now and I still can't get the taste out of my mouth- heading back first thing tomorrow... Best sandwiches in Florence, friendly staff and decorated nicely. Perfect stop for brunch to have a sandwich or freshly made pasta. Definately a must!

We were in awe in the the Central Market with all the wonderful, fresh foods and we couldn't decide where to have lunch so we picked the place with the longest line and weren't disappointed. Apparently I had a cow stomach sandwich - so good! I don't know what else we had but it was all incredible and fresh. Best... More

what an institution...and what delicacy. pork cheeks are to die for, and the lampredotto is a revelation...tender, juicy, delicious... simply beautiful. no nonsense, hardcore value-for-money food option that proved to be one of the most satisfying meals of our one week Florence stay. go there even if you don't like to eat stomach...simply to soak in the vibe and the...
