This restaurant should be at the top of everyone’s list. Absolutely incredible food. Completely unpretentious; tucked away, offering the best homemade meal we ate during our month in Italy. Al Tranvai (‘streetcar’) was the only place that our local host insisted we try during our...More

We had had lunch at this wonderful neighborhood place on a previous trip but decided to try it for dinner. We were not disappointed. It is a small restaurant with local color and friendly staff. We started with bruschetta which was great. We shared the...More

This is a very small restaurant with a limited number of tables so we were lucky to get in without booking. We were squeezed in next to the kitchen area so it was fairly busy around our table but this wasn't a problem. There was...More

Through a slightly sunken doorway you will find a fabulous welcome (in Italian) to great quality local food. We had the house white (great), gnocchi and ossobuco specials: simply delicious. We are very likely to go again this week.

We found the place by chance and loved it. All starters, first and second plates were good but gnudi was exceptional imo. Worth to try.

Al Tranvai is a fantastic little restaurant, truly authentic with friendly staff and great food. Oh, and reasonably priced. It’s far from the central tourist melee, but well worth it for something a little more traditional and wholesome. We visited for lunch and it was...More

A local friend shared her favorite local spot. What a wonderful hidden gem. Quiet, tiny, family restaurant with fresh and fabulous food. Local wine, fresh seasonal produce, friendly staff. Amazing zucchini flowers, and polenta with lardo. Yum. Octopus risotto, pane cotta, homemade pasta. All amazing,...More

Santo Spirito / San Frediano
A warm evening with a cocktail in your hand and great
company is the ideal way to experience Piazza Santo
Spirito; the area is busiest at sunset for happy hour.
Visitors cannot hide their astonishment sitting on the
staircase under the Basilica of Santo Spirito, and
they cannot help but stare at the architectural
masterpieces like Bianca Cappello House, Fontana dello
Sprone and San Frediano in Cestello and Santa Maria
