We got our hotel to book this restaurant for us and I am so glad we did. When we arrived it was empty and we thought what have we done. We could choose where we sat. Within 5 - 10 mins the place was packed...More

While the food was of good quality and tasted good, the portions we're small, but the bill was not. We also felt treated like we were "just another couple tourists not worth being polite or friendly to". We felt the service was very poor, but...More

We had a party of 6 and had not made reservations anywhere. We were very fortunate to have found Al Tranvai. They quickly found a table for us. The food and service was outstanding. Clientele was a nice mix of locals and tourists. This restaurant...More

This is a real gem of a tiny restaurant on the south side of the Arno. Quaint and friendly. So if you are visiting Santo Spirito or Santa Maria del Carmine, this is the place to go for a meal. We had a lunch of...More

During my one week Holiday, I visited this twice. The food was exquisite, and frequented by locals. I am not lying when I say that I said "mmmhhh" to every mouthful: we ordered different plates, all of them incredible. We had the tripas a la...More

I cannot recommend this tiny restaurant highly enough. The small menu offers great seasonal Tuscan cuisine and the challenge is not to over-order! The staff are always friendly. Service is efficient without being rushed. Prices are very reasonable.

My trip adviser apartment rental host recommended Al Tranvai. When another nearby restaurant was full, I reserved a table at this cute little restaurant that looks a little like the inside of a tram. I LOVED the gnocci with wild boar ragu (like eating pillows)...More

The warmest welcome, and brownie points for using any Italian you can muster. Tiny, quirky place set up to resemble a tram (almost as small and narrow: seats only 24) Food is seasonal, local and thoughtful. Loved the polenta with the transparent slice of lard,...More

Santo Spirito / San Frediano
A warm evening with a cocktail in your hand and great
company is the ideal way to experience Piazza Santo
Spirito; the area is busiest at sunset for happy hour.
Visitors cannot hide their astonishment sitting on the
staircase under the Basilica of Santo Spirito, and
they cannot help but stare at the architectural
masterpieces like Bianca Cappello House, Fontana dello
Sprone and San Frediano in Cestello and Santa Maria
