Superb coffee served with genuine friendly and helpful staff - good strong freddo shakeratos and a wide variety of pastries and cakes, though the croissants sell out early. If we had been there at lunchtime we would have tried the focaccia, which looked delicious. They have a stand area and seating, for which you pay a surcharge. We stayed around... More

We were in Florence for 30 hours and went here twice. I'd be back every morning if I spent more time in Florence. Lovely atmospheric cafe bar with good food and coffee and excellent morning pastries. Lots of locals there too.

We went here for a light lunch. We had some of their famous focaccias, and some wine. Great friendly service and the focaccias were delicious.

We chose this from Trip Advisor vegetarian friendly recommendations before travelling as my husband is veggie. We went for dinner. Definitely more of a lunch menu than dinner as it is very limited; as vegetarian friendly we hoped for something a little more varied. Can't fault the quality of the food and the service was excellent. I asked what the... More

We only intended to stop here for a quick drink on our way to finding a restaurant but ended up ordering some nibbles to go with our wine and ended up staying for a few hours. The wine was amazing, the food was divine and the service was fantastic! Quaint little bar with real authentic, rustic Italian food (in my... More

On our last day in Florence we were of a mind to get a quick sandwich but with one of us coming down with a cold we opted for a sit down meal instead. This was on our short list anyways so a 10 minute walk later we strolled in and were taken to a table. Wonderful service from a... More

Got breakfast for two for the price of one coffee near the Duomo. Only a couple of streets away, definitely worth seeking out along a quieter side street. Clearly popular with the locals who were chatting to the bar staff like old friends. Definitely the place to go for a €1 coffee and the best focaccia we found during our... More

Every time we are in Florence we visit Verazzano, it's a piece of old Italy. Great for a light lunch, but you will probably have to queue, but worth the wait. The traditional Tuscan food is very good and the wines superb. Quite expensive but worth it, just for the atmosphere.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
