This tiny restaurant was under an archway, down a staircase, not far from the Uffizi. It had a warm, cozy atmosphere and the owner and waitresses were very welcoming. The menu was entirely in Italian, but we were familiar with most of the menu items. When we had questions, the waitress was fluent enough in English to help us. We... More

The place is nice but the costata fiorentina is way too expensive. The meat was without fillet and with a lot of fat. Not recommended

Tiny restaurant, might not be easy to find. Just follow the smell. Make sure you book a table, otherwise very little chance to eat there in season. Off season, you might get lucky. Menu changes on a regular basis. Service is fast paced and you're well taken care of. If on the menu, ask for the "tagliata" if you're a... More

This place was recommended to us by the owner of the apartment we rented as a nice and authentic Italian place. It is indeed patronized by locals serves what looks like a traditional food. To be honest most of the food we tested was not bad but the dishes are small and pricey. Now the bad part. If you want... More

Blink and you could miss this place located in an archway just beside the Uffizi but that would be a shame. A simple local Tuscan menu and fast efficient service. Go with recommendations as the owner knows what he is doing.

Last night, we returned to a restaurant that we had eaten at twice a long time ago and had really liked. Of course, you never know if it will be the same, as good, or even owned by the same folks. Buca dell' Orafo pleased us just as much and perhaps more than we had hoped. It is a small,... More

Four couples had dinner. Service was very good, food was very salty. The veal hop was so salty that it could not be eaten. Very small place and a reservation is a must. This is a pace fpr the peasant food that Tuscany is famous for.

Salumi sliced by knife instead of machine, so it chewed like rubber. Lamb tasted like forzen meat cooked directly on the pan. Believe me you don't want to try that. The only one dish on the averge was funghi fritti, but if you know how to fried a food, as long as the ingredient is fresh, it cannot be bad.... More

Great service, amazing food and excellent wine! All in all definitely a must when in Firenze! Best to book as it is a place where the locals eat. Or you could try a walk in as you never know your luck!!

Dined here with my husband and brother, most fancy restaurant my brother had been taken to during his study in Florence. Steak florentine, delicious. Carefully crafted pastas were delightful and authentic. Go here, expect to assimilate with Italian culture, be respectful and you will have a wonderful dining experience. It is a bit tough to find, so ask your hotel... More
