Everything was perfect from the time we arrived until it was time to go. Our waiter explained everything to us, especially ordering a steak for 2 people, recommended the artichoke salad and wine. My boyfriend usually prefers his steak medium well, I on the other...More

The reviews just don’t do this restaurant justice. Where do I begin? Wine: we took the advice of the waiter and he helped us select a wonderful Brunello, our new favorite wine. Waiters Surprises: small fried bread balls, lightly fried in butter and salted, amazing....More

We booked here based on other TA reviews. I was desperate to try bistecca fiorentina. However, as the minimum weight was 1kg I didn't feel that I had the appetite to take on that much meat so, grudgingly, I opted for a special; roast suckling...More

What lovely comments. We will make sure that Kejde sees this - feedback is so important! We hope that you will indeed return to our town one day, and let us spoil you all over again!

The food was uniformly good, nothing fancy, and provided good value. The service was somewhat indifferent. The odd thing we experienced was when we asked for the dessert menu the waiter simply stated one dessert with no explanation.

Bother that is really not good to hear. We have a whole heap of desserts, as you can see on other reviews, and they are generally awesome. We are sorry we didn't blow your socks off - that is what we want to do!

We appreciate your thorough review! Glad you were able to find us, stop by again and try even more of our Tuscan treats!

Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by
an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city.
The historic center is characterized by the immensity
of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the
brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does
not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni
Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is
enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city

It was a lovely atmosphere & it’s the place you might dress up more vs. the other type of homey Italian dinners you might have while on vacation.

At L’Osteria di Giovanni we not only maintain strict allegiance to traditional Tuscan dishes (including many antique recipes that are not commonly used these days), but we also experiment with new flavours and combinations, whilst remaining faithful to local and season produce. Popular new dishes include smoked duck breast on rocket salad and dressed in balsamic vinaigrette, tortelli stuffed with pear and pecorino, with leek and paprika sauce, pici with sausage and kale, and lamb slow-cooked with artichokes. We stronly believe that your restaurant experience should be unique and satisfying on every front. We look forward to welcoming you one day to L'Osteria di Giovanni.
