Hi, The only positive thing was the food! The staff not so kindly! We ate something in only half an hour! They brought us the bill before we finished to eat and drink our bottle of wine! And in particular without we asked for that and without knowing if we needed something else! The cause - according to what they... More

We used it when we got hungry and tired after spending 3 hours ( plus one hour waiting at the ticket Office) at the Ai Weiwei Exhibition in Palazzo Strozzi. They serve great Italian Food and Snacks till 4:30pm, when normal Restaurants no longer serve lunch. Place was very busy with locals on a Sunday afternoon, which is a good... More

We were recommended by a tour guide to try this place and it did not disappoint. Very local feel, full of italians which is a good sign. Food was delicious. The house wine was better than what we pay too much for in Australia. The desert was excellent. Would definitely recommend. Thank you

We stopped for lunch on Christmas Eve and were lucky to get a table. Place was packed with locals. Ordered lasagna, which was fabulous. Restaurant is small and crowded and the atmosphere is lively and authentic.

Busy with locals at lunch with typically Tuscan fare. We had roasted chicken, roasted pork and cheese with mustard sauce also known as marmalade with horseradish or it's equivalent. Chicken with cheese and mustard aperitivo next time in this lively local-frequented spot just a few blocks from piazza Repubblica. Downstairs seating as well.

We picked this trattoria based off of other review and the proximity to our hotel near the Duomo. Spot on. Place was packed by 7:30 pm (opens at 7 pm). Despite the crowd, fast, friendly, excellent service. Large carafe of cold water, wine, bread. Caprese salad was great (delicious mozzarella). Pasta dishes delicious, ample wine (more than a splash). Desert... More

A three minute walk from the Palazzo Strozzi, Marione is a comfortable busy place that serves a wide range of dishes at lunch and dinner. I've frequently had interesting conversations in one language or another with guests at neighbouring tables. The place is a bit crowded, but quit comfortable: full of locals and tourists alike. I've always felt quite welcome... More

If you are in Florence you must go to Trattoria Marione... that's one of the busiest dinner place on town. You cannot reserve so you have to go there and wait for a free table. Sometimes it takes more than half an hour, sometime it is quicker. Once inside you get a real treat: excellent food and a good service.... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
