Al Vicolo Pizza&vino, Catania

A corner of goodness in the heart of the city. "Al Vicolo Pizza & Vino", near to the central Piazza Stesicoro, has won over many tourists and gourmands. The restaurant has a beautiful show with one of its rooms overlooking directly on the remains of the ancient Roman amphitheater. Pizzas are soft and crispy at the same time, so great that exit out of the pot: it's all merit of the sourdough - with a shutter speed ranging from 24 to 36 hours - and the high quality of flour used. Food, in fact, from seasonings to meat, are genuinely Sicilians. Al Vicolo Pizza & Wine isn't only pizzeria: in addition to the more traditional cuisine, the restaurant wanted to make a difference launching the "Cotoletteria". It's a kind of meat taken by the tradition of Milan and adapted to Catania's cooking: a chicken, veal or horse steak - always very large - used as the basis of a pizza, enriched with many toppings. You should try also "Insalapizza": a bowl of bread to compose freely with vegetables at your liking. Moreover there is a wide range of wines from the best wineries and craft beers of quality to accompany every meal. Even the most greedy will be satisfied: the restaurant offers wonderful desserts, such as homemade cheesecake, and in our "Daily menu" it's always changing. We wait for you every night, including Monday, from 19 until 1 am, in via del Colosseo 5 .

Pizza

We went to this restaurant based on a recommendation from our host. The pizza was delicious and the staff attentive and eager to please. Beware the size of the pizza they are massive.

The best pizza

It’s simple the best pizza that I ever eaten. We got two, number 6 and 9. And I would recommend the 6 one. We also had the wine house. Prices are good.

Trendy and fresh

Nice spot for an evening with friends, good pizza and decent meat, equipped for open-air table service also in winter time. The internal alley also has a panoramic view on some Greek ruins. Good stuff!

Delicious pizza and everything else

Probably the best pizza in Catania

The pizza is just amazing, the mozzarella on it is outstanding, the dough is perfect. I will definitely come back at some point to Catania for this amazing pizza!

Best pizza EVER!

We started with an awesome antipasti that server Sivio suggested. Paired with Nero d’avalo-syrah wine. Best pizza ever was #13 Via Vittorio Emanuele II. Highly recommend!!!
