we were sent here as part of our "3 day indulgence" package by palazzo barbarigo We were expecting, therefore, "cousin tony's" food and service! Not so, we were given a four course meal of great quality, with exeptional, friendly service! Recommended, and will return

No complaints really. Emphasis on fish and plenty of choice in menu to satisfy most. Fried fish platter was enormous. Service improved as evening progressed - took a bit too long to serve main course. Food overall was good and had that home cooked feel. Relaxed dining with the option of a drink in the adjoining bar before or after.... More

We ate here twice on our trip. Great choice of menu, set menu of meat or fish for €39. Your waiter or waitress will tell you what they have as special too. Mixed fried fish is huge plate but wonderful squid.. We all ate really well here, you can eat in bat too where it's cheaper but you may not... More

We were rewarded in our search for a local restaurant, with solid and enjoyable food representative of Venice. Waitress was friendly and fun, and the owner made us feel welcome. Flavors were rich and choices were creative. Our most enjoyable dinner in Venice (of three).

Central located in San Marco district, this small restaurant offers a good quality of food at still reasonable prices. With a helpful service this place stands out of the typical venezian tourist eateries. At 39€ for a four course set menu (either monti or mare) and 3€ coperto the Trattoria Da Fiore is simply a very good deal.

We ate here 3 times, initailly for cicetti at lunch time and then dinner twice. Good value for money in an expensive city. The sea food is wonderful.

Good local food I was there during the Carnival, so a very busy period. THe staff was very nice and the food very local and good I'll go back even if I think that some pasta and a coffee plus a glass of wine =41 euros It's a bit expensive!

Stumbled upon this place in Venice and had a great meal. Fortunately we arrived about 7pm without a reservation and they were able to fit us in. Any later and we would have had no chance of getting a table. Oustanding fresh seafood and the most amazing lasagna I have ever tasted and great fresh seafood. The service was outstanding... More

We stumbled accross Da Fiore on our second evening in Venice. The restaurant was fully booked, but we had a wonderful prosecco in the bar while they arranged space. The bar is an experience it itself, and well worth a visit! The food was great, the service impeccable, and the overall experience memorable. We returned for a second meal two... More

Recommended by a Venetian as authentic, we were treated well by the staff both when we had a snack in the early evening and when we returned another time for dinner (we had made a reservation). This is a popular, well run establishment serving nicely prepared, uncomplicated food.

Description
You may fall upon Trattoria Da Fiore restaurant in Venice with cries of delight not only is it a charming, laid-back trattoria run by a native Venetian family, it is also incredibly affordable for this high-ticket city. Near Piazza San Marco, too, so its perfect for every kind of tourist or business noshing. A small, historic, charming spot with a separate space for those who wish to just nibble cichetti and drink a glass of wine, Trattoria Da Fiore has the beamed ceilings, warm plastered walls and dark wood seating and white table linens all typical of Venetian eateries. The menu is Italian and Sergio and his two children pay particular attention to the choice of wines. The house specialty is pennette da Fiore for two with olive oil, garlic and seven seasonal vegetables, though some swear by the zuppa di pesce alla chef brimming with just about everything that swims, perhaps followed by sgroppino al limone to finish. Youll find Trattoria Da Fiore full of both tourists and locals, and something of a triumph.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
