Despite the 3 star rating on Trip Advisor, we decided to come here based on friends' recommendation. We ordered ravioli with spinach, spaghetti with clams and beef stroganoff. The ravioli and stroganoff were disappointing: ravioli was heavy while beef was a bit tough and dry....More

First, let me say that if you are on a budget, this is not your place. Nothing on the menu is inexpensive and for Venice that's saying a lot. We ate her twice during our stay in Venice and were pleasantly surprised both times. The...More

Went here twice in the 4 days we were in Venice. The pasta is unbelievable and the seafood as well. Food: 9/10 Service 7/10 Atmosphere 7/10 Best dishes: Fish - spaghetti aglio olio - and an amazing spaghetti bolognese! Definitely a place to go

Not knowing Venice, we asked our hotel concierge to recommend a restaurant to give us a true Venetian experience. Ristorante Do Forni was his first and strongest choice, so we went. When we arrived we were seated immediately and offered a drink. Within two minutes...More

Food was well cooked but not to a standard i would have thought. I feel that their Menu is too large to be able to give the level of attention some of the dishes require. Still good though

We came upon the Ristorante Do Forni by "happenstance" as we explored the various alleyways of Venice. At first we were a little confused because the sign in the alleyway bridges two different doorways to the restaurant -- one on the left and the other...More

After mixed reviews on Harry's Bar , the night before, where we had a wonderful experience, we decided to try Ristorante Do Forni, on recommendation as well. Unfortunately, unlike Harry's , it was a terrible experience. We would gladly have spent twice the money to...More

Famous place not far from S. Marco. Interiors are wonderful. Waiters are fast and polite. Rocket salad is just rocket salad with oil. Tomato salad is just tomatoes and oil. Pasta is good enough but not very delicious. Prices are higher than expected

I have to first say the food was very good. The problem comes in the billing, they charged our group of 4, 20 euros service fee on top of the 12% you get charged for your meal. This was the most expensive meal we had...More

We were recommended the Do Forni by our taxi driver (on the way to the pier), who said it was the best fish in Venice. I don't really know what else to say about it to be honest, and that I guess is the issue!...More

The restaurant " Do Forni " was founded in 1973 and is managing with passion by Mr.Eligio Paties.

" Do Forni " is distributed in two adjacent rooms: a rustic elegant room setting with the imagery of the ancient Venetian restaurant and the other one called Orient Express, whose luxurious furnishings reproduce accurately the setting and the soul of the famous wagon train that connects Venice to Istanbul and Paris.

The restaurant features traditional Venetian cuisine, mainly seafood, which offers fish and shellfish of the Adriatic according to recipes handed down by the Venice of the past centuries and embellished with seasonal vegetables and delicate sauces; but also the restaurant is known for a refined interpretation of the Venetian and Italian cooking that mixes the use of meats and local vegetables with the influence of international gastronomy.

Very large and qualified is also the restaurant's wine cellar, that offers the best labels from all the Italian regions, the most prestigious French wines and champagnes as well as a wide selection of international products.
