This place is hard to find but worth it. It was packed with locals on a Saturday lunchtime- always a good sign. We had to wait for a table - no problem with a beer! The food was very good - I had he seafood platter which was great and huge - 8 different types of seafood, my wife the... More

We had dinner here twice during our stay in Venice, Tuesday and Thursday of last week. The atmosphere was very good and the food was excellent on both occasions. A small but busy eatery adjacent to our B&B at Cima Rosa near San Stae and most of the time you need to book unless you are waiting outside at 1900... More

Found this place by accident while wandering around. Not too busy - but also not too quiet, and seemed to be full of locals. Ordered a caprese, carpaccio and veal. Food was top rate. House wine was good, and the bill, when it arrived was far smaller than we expected.

We ate lunch here last week. They have a deal for 12 Euro: a first or second course, side, wine and espresso. We loved everything! I had the calamari and vegetables. My husband had the octopus salad. The restaurant is very nice inside. We enjoyed a leisurely lunch with great food, atmosphere and value. I look forward to returning on... More

Food was quite average, both pasta and sea food. Tiramisu was very good, probably the best of all choices. Service was excellent and personal at the start but it became worse as the place became more crowded. Food took veeeerry long to be served. We paid 24 Euro per person for a main course, wine and dessert... not that good... More

Across the street from our hotel. Came here because of high ratings. My pasta was OK. Service was not over the top as they seem to have only two waiters. Tiramisu was excellent. Daughters black spaghetti was excellent.

We got the water taxi from Marco Polo to San Stae and made straight for this restaurant. It's very simple, just walk down the street ahead of you from San Stae, away from the grand canal, and it's on the left hand side about 2 minutes walk along. It would be easy to miss - watch out for the hand... More

Visited this restaurant by recommendation from the Concierge at our hotel on a Tuesday night....restaurant was full and no chance of a table so we booked for the following night. Much quieter the next night ...the waitress seemed quite inexperienced with wine recommendations so the owner had to step in. Food was ok...not as good as we expected. I had... More

close to hotel when had enough walking! Ate there twice and all dishes very good. we ate all fish; starters & main course. very fresh & tasty. Had to book as gets full. It's a busy place and the atmosphere tends to reflect that although you didn't feel rushed.

We had the set menu for lunch and that was such a such a good value for money. we also had dinner here and enjoyed everything we tried. The tiramisu I have tried here was out of this world! The restaurant was so busy and it took a while to get our tiramisu so I didn't order the second one... More

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
